disclaimer for better understanding: with the „bad days“ i mean short term writers block. so smaller blocks that occur very regularly. longer writers block is something different that i want to tackle in another video in the future! have s great day!
Can say that taking some rest when writers block strikes works on me somehow because I afraid that I will started to hate the track that I'm working on instead of enjoy working on it since hating the track will make me treat it as a nightmare instead of inspiration which lead me to not finishing it at all 😅
Oh this is a very interesting perspective indeed! It totally makes sense that you try to keep musicmaking fun! If it becomes unenjoyable a lot, you should definitely take a break. I feel like sometimes you need a little bit of persistence to get to the fun part, where everything flows.
the technique described at 7:33 is very similar to the pomodoro technique. i really love this technique and it always rly helps me a lot with studying c:
thanks for the tip with the timer ill definetly try that, i also struggle a lot with writers block but making music is just way to fun to quit because of that :)
Thanks for the tip. I was planning on make a track a day for March, but I don't know how I could tackle days when I don't feel like it or don't have enough time to be "perfect". I think I can work something out for that challenge
I enjoyed this video my good sir. All I do is make mixes. And some days, I will diligently work for hours on end with 0 results. It is incredibly difficult. I am entirely self taught. But yes. I do the same thing. I continue pushing on until I can't anymore!

Yeah its litetally just an alternate version of the pomodore technique. You can really just adjust the time, however it works for you!
