Only an artist of Marilyn McCoo's talent and stature could stand on stage with the Righteous Brothers and not only hold her own but add flavour to a total classic. Blue eyed soul was never bettered than the RB's and MM is a Goddess for the ages.
SOLID GOLD...it was the best. I actually remember this performance... Marilyn McCoo was in the Fifth Dimension & she was singing with Billy & Bobby...it was pure😅 serendipity ❤💓☘️👍🖤💛
This version is absolutely beautiful. Especially the way Bobby changed up his. The way Bill and Bobby each looked at Marilyn when they were singing, I am surprised she didn't catch fire. Damn!!!!
How can Marilyn not be a puddle on the floor with those two sets of blue eyes gazing at her? What a pro! And Bobby croons that originally-spoken bit so beautifully...I'm in love all over again.
I bought all the righteous brother albums, and to see this performance with Marylin was amazing. Such class and talent is almost non existant in todays music arena. Bring back the sounds of the sixties with artist that love that era, and folk that can sing, and not on stage half naked, screeming at each other.
A REAL sound sensation. You really hear three different vocal qualities, all excellent. It's a pleasure to see the mutual respect, the way they lose themselves in the music.
She was my first favorite diva in the 1960's. Saw the RB's at Orleans in Las Vegas. Extremely strong piece here by the three. Not sure what to say about it. Wish I had seen it LIVE!!!!
Marilyn was my first favorite diva. Saw the Righteous Bro's at the Orleans in Las Vegas before Bobby's death. I think this is one of the many very best of both 5D and RB. Not sure what to say about it. Big fan of Dionne Warwick here as well. :-)
Marilyn overpowered many of the other performers on Solid Gold. She's got such a dynamite voice. This, though, is a nice blending of 3 spectacular talents.
This is a song that she just had to sing with the Righteous Brothers, the duo they called "white soul" in the 1960s. If anyone should have sung this with them, it was Marilyn McCoo! Bravo Marilyn!
Actually, it was "blue eyed" soul!!! BUT.. you've expressed what an anomaly the Righteous Brothers were. In the land of Smoky, The Temptations, Four Tops, and Supremes, the Righteous Brothers were THE ONLY duo who was not black who brought true passion and soul to the table!!!!
Miss McCoo (Mrs Davis) is my favorite first diva followed by Annie Haslam of Renaissance and then Agnetha Faltskog of ABBA (the blonde) -- who remains my life favorite and since then the immortal Miss Olivia Newton-John -- saw her at Segerstrom Hall in Orange County, California -- serious music in these muses -- last comment: I am a performer (at Stanford, my alma mater) of J.S. Bach -- who is my original muse, in the secular fugues, toccatas and preludes for organ. Mathematically pure and simple. That is all I need.
perfect...all singing together with such soul......full of inspiration. miss this show but wouldn't want it to return with today's artists.....no way....they're missin' it !
Dan, this version of the classic is charming--3 consummate pros doing their thing with yes, "silky soul and combined inspiration!" I appreciate the "props & nods," back-acha with blessings from your friends at FOREVER 5th DIMENSION.
Cindy Marshall -- Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley were The Righteous Brothers. Marilyn McCoo, before she struck out as a solo singer, was in The Fifth Dimension. Both groups were on top of the A-list for a long time.
@@feminineone9610 REALLY! Credit due to: Johnny Rivers, who started in Memphis his own label then quickly signed McCoo then the 5th dimension, and they came out of the box!! He is not in Hall of Shame IMO because of smart INDEPENDENT moves like that
prefer the purity of the original Righteous Brothers original recording...she's a gr8 singer but she shouldn't mess with this particular song..she's too slick sounding and spoils it..just my opinion
That s the real Bobby Hatfield?; He looks so different; Bill Medley one of the greatest Champions ever! Marilyn McCoo what ever happened to her?; They all did well working 👍 out this song ! Enjoyed it!
Why? I mean, you have the original, forever. It's classic. Wth is wrong with a rendition with a fine singer like Marilyn. Especially, since it's with the original artists! Hrmph!
Only an artist of Marilyn McCoo's talent and stature could stand on stage with the Righteous Brothers and not only hold her own but add flavour to a total classic. Blue eyed soul was never bettered than the RB's and MM is a Goddess for the ages.
Her voice is like honey. She is sooooo good.
Ms.McCoo is so underrated...A wonderful talent.
SOLID GOLD...it was the best.
I actually remember this performance... Marilyn McCoo was in the Fifth Dimension & she was singing with Billy & Bobby...it was pure😅 serendipity ❤💓☘️👍🖤💛
The three voices together are wonderful but I get goosebumps when I hear Bobby Hatfields soaring tenor. He puts his whole heart into his performance
What a tremendous complement of voices. Each masterful.
Yes! Three singers who really know how to sing harmony. Just lovely!
This version is absolutely beautiful. Especially the way Bobby changed up his. The way Bill and Bobby each looked at Marilyn when they were singing, I am surprised she didn't catch fire. Damn!!!!

Three greats at work making beautiful music together. 😍
A REAL sound sensation. You really hear three different vocal qualities, all excellent. It's a pleasure to see the mutual respect, the way they lose themselves in the music.
Just a beautiful and classy lady with lots of talent.
She was my first favorite diva in the 1960's. Saw the RB's at Orleans in Las Vegas. Extremely strong piece here by the three. Not sure what to say about it. Wish I had seen it LIVE!!!!
Thank you for the post of these three Awesome performers R. I.P. Bobby Hatfield ✝️🙏
I missed watching Solid Gold 😭😭😭
They had such great voices, but so did she. Her and Billie Davis along with the 5th Dimension did a great rendition of it as well.
I love all three of these performers.
she is the most beautiful woman ever created
2 brothers and one fine sista....

Absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is true talent! Amazing trio of voices!
Excellent! So much soul and inspiration. ❤️
Ásdís Birna Stefánsdóttir shivers down the spine good!!!
j adore❤❤❤
she's great !
Marilyn overpowered many of the other performers on Solid Gold. She's got such a dynamite voice. This, though, is a nice blending of 3 spectacular talents.
furthermore she's so pretty
3very classy singers!
One of her best performances on that show.
Now that's singing
This is absolutely great.......

@@tantraman10 also, Michael MacDonald, Boz Skaggs, Daryl Hall. If only Marilyn could duet with those fellas, too.
This was really great! 😎
Holy Cannoli! Thank you for this.
So beautiful singers

Awesome and an amazingly great live version of the Righteous Bros. #1 classic. NICE!!!
M A R A V I L H O S O S!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Love, love, love this!
Leave perfection alone!
Marylins voice is perfect on this song
How Sexy was this trio?!!!
Cindy Marshall -- Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley were The Righteous Brothers. Marilyn McCoo, before she struck out as a solo singer, was in The Fifth Dimension. Both groups were on top of the A-list for a long time.
Surprised Marilyn didn't catch fire from the looks either one of the men were giving her!
She's new to me, but she did pretty well all considerd. Great voice.
Ridiculous talent......I now wish they had collaborated more often.
I think I was feeling some sparks with mccoo and the big guy.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. I heard that she likes tall dudes. He looked pretty engaged, too. Can't blame him.
I agree!!! He likes the chocolate cookie too..ex Darlene Love and Mary Wilson.. js 🤔🤔🤔
@@feminineone9610 REALLY! Credit due to: Johnny Rivers, who started in Memphis his own label then quickly signed McCoo then the 5th dimension, and they came out of the box!! He is not in Hall of Shame IMO because of smart INDEPENDENT moves like that
That was my thought too. But who could resist "without you what good am I"? 💋
Yep, looked like it to me! Other guy was third-wheeling!
Just Magic, what can one say!!!!
Marilyn Mccoo 💞
That was amazing!
Well, I just have to say it -- Bobby is insufferably cute, Bill is unbelievably sexy, and Marilyn is gorgeous and perfect. The stuff of dreams!
WOW!
WOW
Each a great singer in their own right.
Was this a step higher ?
soul pure soul
beautiful
Whoa.
❤️❤️❤️
amen

Bobby at about 1:40. Love the change
Dripping with 70s cheese, but I really like all three singers.
Generation's got nothing to do with it. Good music .. no comparison to all this junk out today. Not even close.
@babrham1122 Five years later, Mr. Medley went full circle with one of the most beautiful movie songs.
Originial Date May 29th 1982.
That s the real Bobby Hatfield?; He looks so different; Bill Medley one of the greatest Champions ever! Marilyn McCoo what ever happened to her?; They all did well working 👍 out this song ! Enjoyed it!
They are both 41 on this show.
Gained a few pounds so fuller face.
no volume
@Iamonad Well, well said!
Bobby by this time had lost the tremendous voice that he had singing Unchained Melody.
not loud enough....
72? Nah
this should have NEVER happened!!! :(

@@waynej2608 Agree totally! Beautiful rendition of a classic song.
Oh my God!! A Karen.
Did anyone else hear the sigh at the beginning of the song when Bill sang the first phrase. I heard a definite coo (sigh) from Ms. McCoo.
@@patricialabbe1416 exactly
She doesn't add anything.
She's a great singer
