    "It was a good day for Preaching the gospel" Eric Hovind
    Translation: "I had a good day asking gotcha questions as now I have enough material to make it look like I won"

      "made it look like" would be correct. This is not what "Atheist's think". Many Atheists have a different world view. Many Atheist agree with world views of Theists. Some Atheists disagree with other Atheist on certain matters. Atheism is not a cult, with one mindset, as a Theistic world view indeed is. An Atheist simply does not see evidence of a God, period. It is only that one definition that an Atheist subscribes. However, you will find it common among Atheists, that all things are possible, until proven impossible.

    It's because God likes to use Thunderf00t to help reach the lost with His message of salvation. He's always letting the scoffers find ways to glorify Him. He was able to do the same thing with Pharaoh. :)

    well this was an extremely fair and unbiased view of things. My favourite part is where he doesn't cut them off after asking stupid questions but lets them continue to give their logical answer. I like how he also doesn't use semantics to attempt to prove his point and how it is firmly grounded in logic and reason.

    You guys miss the point. As an atheist it comes down to saying I realise that I can't ultimately hold opinion as fact, just like anyone of faith can't. As a result I don't go out of my way to crudely edit together a video with the aim of trying to belittle someone's views but ultimately come out as a smug jerk. I respect your right to practise your faith without interruption; please allow me to go about my day in peace.

    Christians are completely honest about what can be known because we start with the source of all knowledge, God. That's why it's so easy to amplify the foolishness of the scoffer. To deny God, they have to deny reality itself.

    Sorry to say, but theology is the study of religion, not just Christian religion. Hence why academics distinguish between "Christian theologians", "Jewish theologians", and "Zoroastrian theologians " for example.
    Theos - god
    Logos - study of

    One Question.
    If a Man/Woman speaks to someone that only they can see & hear, they are considered to be a Lunatic. However, if a Man/Woman speaks to someone that they cannot see or hear, it is considered to be a Religion. The question would be, why is that? #2 What is the difference between the two?

    A dog is not more valuable than humans intrinsically but because we are humans we know what is like to be humans so we sympathize and identify with each other so therefore we as humans put more value in us than other species of animals.and it does matter because this is the only life we have so it makes it incredibly valuable and its tragic when its wasted and we all want to live with the least amount of discomfort as possible so those of us that want that work together to help achieve it simple

    Premise: "You can’t know anything without God." Either this can be known logically, which would mean you *can* know truth without God (via logic), which would make the statement false. Or this statement is illogical, in which case we can dismiss it as an invalid argument. Either way, the argument fails.

  • @PhiloVM
    @PhiloVM 12 років тому

    I understand the humility being conveyed by admitting it is "possible that I don’t know anything." But in the strictest sense you really can't answer that question in the negative, because the very act of providing an answer implicitly assumes you know something about the terms of the question. You know something about what it means to have knowledge, the nature of yourself, your mind, and your limitations.

    Of course it applies to me, it applies to everyone. I have not claimed to be absolutely certain about anything. I claimed that the only honest answer is that we cannot be 100% certain about anything. In the video you were implying that atheists hold to a weak position because they admit this fact. Admitting the existance of the fallacy of absolute certainty is not weakness, it is honesty.

  • @eng413driver

    I especially the enjoyed the honest and humble atheists admitting the they could not be 100% sure of anything as compared to the arrogance and dishonesty of the theists claiming absolute knowledge and certainty. You guys are hilarious, unfortunately for you it's at your expense. You don't make an argument that makes sense and you just show a few second long clips of atheists response to your really dumb questions. If you guys understood atheism you would understand your "ministries" to these atheists that are often as well read in the bible have heard what you're saying and have through reasoning rejected it. You coming out spewing your rehearsed lines does nothing positive for your cause. It's humerous

    I am a slave to no man and no God. I think for myself, I do what I believe is good and moral, not what some musty old book tells me to. I am free from the idea that I am somehow an "unworthy" creature, doomed by sins committed by a fictional man and woman in a fictional garden 6,000 years ago. Like a tiger who paces the imaginary boundaries of a cage after it has escaped, you are a slave to ancient dogma, while I can choose how best to live my life.

    See. That's the frustrating part. How can you NOT understand what's being said? If you are to be 100% honest with yourself and you are willing to keep an OPEN MIND, you cannot be 100% certain about ANYTHING. It's that simple. You MUST be open to ANY possibility, WHEREVER REASON takes you.
    I have NO reason to believe I am in the Matrix. If you show me otherwise, then you're right. But I can't be ABSOLUTELY certain I'm not. I deal with the realities at hand. But keep an open mind.

  • @eng413driver
    @eng413driver 12 років тому

    I never claimed to be absolutely certain about anything. That is my point. Admitting that absolute certainty about a position on a subject is not weakness it's honesty. Absolute certainty is a fallacy. In your video when the people you interview admit that they are not 100% certain, you imply that this somehow weakens their position. It does not weaken their position. They are simply attampting to be completely honest.
