    Well done lads. I once met a lady who was from New Zealand. Her Dad played Rugby League in New Zealand. She said a lot of RL players who crossed over to Union were considered the best tacklers.

    So this is how the shoulder makes contact with the head. Watch the midsection, elbows in, high hands, same leg same shoulder, the hit/wrap should be one 'hit' (thats your timing)and we drive off the forward leg to keep the hips square. Proper coaching is how we'll get rid of HIAs and high tackles.

      Ace mate. I blooming hate this new high technique. The most effective tackle is going low. Watch the stomach. Get yourself into tackle range, use short feet upon arrival. Must Use the correct shoulder, with the head tilted to the side, eyes and chin up. What ever shoulder you use you must lead with the same leg. Right shoulder equals right leg etc. Head must always be to the side of the body or the bum. Never across the body.
      Elbows tucked tight to the side, both hands up. Timing of the hit is crucial. Like an aeroplane taking off you must have a down up motion upon collision to have some power and must drive arms thru and squeeze the leg tightly all while driving them backwards forcing them to finish on their back. When squeezing arms tightly and bringing their body as close as possible to yours u must also have you're head lock tightly with you're cheeks against the side of their butt. cheeks. Never let the head be loose on contact or finishing the tackle. Have you're back straight always look up. Squeeze tight. Drive and always finish the tackle.

      @@TheLadas27 and that's why ESL quality is horrible. This technique only just surfaced 15 years ago. I have played and coaches rugby league since 1983. Today's rugby league players are soft. And it's because they can't tackle properly. Like biscuits dunked in hot coffee. Soft.
      Gotta get low and win contact there.

      @@truthseeker7322 can you explain to me why in rnl you can do high tackles or only shoulder tackles while in rugny union no?

      @@ld_kronoss I know it's in rugby league. It's in both codes and it ridiculous. High tackles are lazy.
      League players were superior tacklers compared to union back in the days when they went low. These days union players have better technique.
      They go high not to just wrap the ball but to slow the pace of the game. 2 up top to hinge and 1 down low to chop the legs. Wrestling techniques. Can get ten seconds before play the ball. If you're team is fit you don't need ten seconds. You need pressure. It used to be one low one high first contact always going low. It's stronger.
      Be fit. You're attack is only as good as you're defence. It's simple but now it's too technical yet they want speed

    You rather drive the tackle with both legs side to side that way you would get more power balance & steady to ready to tackle

      Man, that’s like you should tackle in rugby league! You have to win contact and wrap a ball. Then support will come and you put attacker on his back. Its not union when you ok with “just get guy down”.

    • @truthseeker7322
      @truthseeker7322 3 роки тому +1

      @@TheLadas27 nah, if you tackle properly the runner won't have time to offload or bump you off. Even better for the 2nd man as he only has to target the ball and pop the runner. I've seen more h.i.a when players go up. Such a lazy technique, gives the attacker and extra 5-10m on contact. This game doesn't reward defence like it used too.

      Tackling low is outdated now and dangerous. Players are bigger, faster and more powerful now if you tackle the legs you risk being knocked out by the thighs or knees.
