Stannsome Stann hits the most important muscles. Most fighters neglect developing a powerass, but that's where the strength for fighting comes from.

maybe something like 30 seconds each of pec dek flyes, lateral raises, cable pull overs, reverse flyes, barbell curls, dips, crunches, back extensions, leg extensions, leg curls, calf raises. circuit style with no rest between. thats almost 4 minutes of non stop work and then do a minute break. Im not a fighter so who knows how it would work but the theory is intriguing to me.

He was born in a military base in Japan. He served in the Marines. Anyone that serves in the USMC is patriotic enough to me.

Because you must be able to avoid takedowns or clinches and finish on your back getting ground and pounded or submitted. MMA is a totally different game than muay thai, box or K1 championship. If you wanna undestand watch Randy Couture against James Toney.

iv always thought about the best way to train as a fighter. One theory iv always thought might work well was kinda do the opposite of what brian does. instead of trying to avoid the lactic acid build up in each muscle group to instead focus more on a total body isolation exercise based circuit. this way you get conditioned to lactic acid build up and the mitochondria and heart n lungs get better at dealing with it by increasing oxygen intake and oxygen utilization.

Stann had nothing on Chael Sonnen, but he is still one of my favorite fighters. Its rather good he lost to Sonnen because i doubt that he would have out strike Anderson Silva. Chael did him a favour by not letting him fight Silva. Stann will probably become a champ, but not while Sonnen and Silva are still in the UFC.

I wish him the best of luck against Sonnen. I don't think Stan has the wrestling base to prevent being taken down. Go back to the Phil Davis fight. Stylistically, elite level wrestlers are bad matchups for him. However if Stan tags Sonnen, then he can go in for the kill. War Stan

@ you must not know the true definition of a mercenary. Mercenaries are soldiers for hire who don't have loyalty to anyone. U.S. marines have loyalty to one country. They do get paid but they dnt fight for the highest bidder. They are more like knights.

@mmatip123 I'm not in the UFC therefore I dont need to be an elite wrestler and stop chaels double. Brian Stann IS IN THE UFC and obviously his wrestling is not good enough to be in the UFC.
