It is also not as interesting to watch as the under 16s or 18s, that used to get lots of limelight at clubs, in the FA youth cup for example, yet somehow, a slower, less dynamic women's game, seems to get all the fanfare and centre stage. This world cup they are trying to push it to $152m or so, men's last year was $440m, so they will need a big increase for 2027. The only way they can really do that is to increase sponsorships and of course... ask for loads more money from broadcasters. Just last weekend the final of the mexican professional women's league was held at Azteca Stadium with 55K people in the audience, more than the people who attended the male's final (two weeks ago). Granted, the stadium of the male's final has less capacity and if it were bigger it would have had much more people there, but still, 55 thousand fans is quite impressive, even for a male team. And by the way, my team, Club América, won.
Womens football are awesome. I remember when first time i saw womens game in 1994 and that was something new. But i really like it. Congeats for Barcelona. This is a really strong team. The game was revolutionized when the major European Clubs took on women’s teams. Since then the game has grown massively, but more importantly, has gained credibility. When judged on its own merits, and not the neanderthal comparisons to the men’s game, then you realize what a great game women’s football is. It has been exciting to see it explode in the last few years, and the players getting the credit they deserve.
It's own merits? Women's football is not only subsidized by men's but is also being aggressively pushed by teams to chase ESG ratings. If we judge it by its own merits, competition wise it might be fine (For now, trans athletes might become a problem in the future), but as a spectacle it fails massively, low skill, intensity, terrible player quality in defense and in goal, etc. Women's football has grown massively in exposure and professionalism, but that exposure hasn't improved its credibility, it's actually the opposite.
imagine the barcelona fans if the mens tesm were in the UCL final, they would go mad 8 years without the trophy, but congrats to the ladies keeping the europe trophies alive for the club
Tú no te preocupes si el equipo masculino no gana champions. Nosotros sabemos esperar, algún día nuevamente tendremos los jugadores de casa, los que verdaderamente hicieron grande al Barza.
You wouldn’t get arrested for kicking a ball around if you were a women, but there was a ban in one way or another making it difficult or impossible to make a professional women’s team. In Belgium there was a bann from 1920s-1970s. In Brazil there was a ban from 1941-1979. In France there was a ban from 1941-1970. In Germany there was a ban from 1955-1970. In Nigeria there was a ban from 1950-1960. There was a ban in the Soviet Union from 1971-1990. In Spain there was a ban from 1930-the 1970s. In England there was a ban from 1921-1971.
No offence to women’s football but there’s a reason barely anybody watches it in the UK. The talent on display is far from entertaining and goalkeepers may as well be non existent
Never saw this video until today -- but I will say that in the last year I have watched more women's football than in my entire life pre-2024 combined. A lot of it streaming free now. The spirit of the game is cool, a lot of aspects minute-to-minute are great to watch, and there are many teams & players that are very easy to support. The top four or five teams in ENG, SPA, GER, FRA, ITA are all fun to watch, and for me the Swedish Damallsvenskan is more fun to follow in general than most men's leagues.
I hope so Peter, on top of the football and brilliant country, I’ve actually got family in Adelaide and Sydney who I’ve never met, and would love to see.
I’ve been following the women’s game for many years now, I would say from 2015 or just before. It’s great to see the growth in the sport and talent finally been seen by the masses, it’s still on the rise and many things still have to change to improve and help the players. I’ve even hooked my dad now that on Saturday he chose to watch the women’s champions league instead of the fa cup final.

I'm such a proud supporter of women's football and to see it take off in the amount of time I've lived here has been so great, ah my heart feels full ❤ Viv is just so cool, I love her so much ❤ Being in the stadium whiles seeing both my countries play against each other during the Euro's was quite surreal and the atmosphere was so brilliant! The atmosphere at the Champions League match looked so brilliant as well, so happy you could be there! Was watching the match on UA-cam whiles I had the men's FA Cup match on telly but also got updates from the group that I'm a member of, we are so very excited for the World Cup that we're already swapping digital Panini stickers 😅
Women's football is great.!!. Year on year the technical ability increases - AND (a major plus-point for me !) they DON'T roll about screaming in mock agony with every tackle !
Why does Viv Miedema sound Scottish to me!?? Aside from that, I love the coverage of the women's game. I've been a Sheff Utd Womens season ticket holder this year, after watching the Euros semi final at Bramall Lane. The only reason I'm not renewing it is because I've not been able to go to half the games, but I'll still go to as many as I can, and maybe even a few of the men's PL fixtures!
The biggest surprise for me in this video is the number of Wolfsburg fans in attendance. They struggle to attract fans to their men's team at home, how do they draw a crowd to a game in Eindhoven? 😅
Seriously though, women playing a sport should never be "banned"........that's just daft. But be honest; the standard of the women's game is pretty awful; and is being used by wokies to make their usual boring points - then see Wrexham Reserves vs USA Women's national team? It has it's place; but that is NOT being promoted alongside the Premier League. There's a big difference between a sport and an agenda.

Women’s football deserves to be more reconigized when I was covering the local matches at my community college this past year. Each time I had my radio show I always shouted out the women’s football team and also was able to do color commentary for them as well and the team ended up winning the championship. Love support women’s football it’s super fun to watch
Why does it "deserve" to be more recognised? That's ridiculous. Nobody or nothing "deserves" to be successful unless it genuinely is. People are not being deliberately sexist about women's football. The fact of the matter is it's simply light years behind the men's game in almost every factor. It's almost a different sport so it's got to start at the bottom and convince more and more people that it's worth watching. If more of you women got out there and genuinely followed it like men follow THEIR teams (religiously in Europe and South America) then you'll get the recognition you deserve. Until then this woke rubbish from FIFA and EUFA of trying to pay equal prize money will only backfire on the women's game, believe me.
@@cyberdonblue4413 It's typical of feminism to just request something being given to them based on their gender alone. As if these men who are best at what they do didn't work hard to get there. Not to mention the obvious fact that due to biological differences, men's game will always be much more intense.
@@DM-rc4yuyou might not like it but the fact of life is the women’s game has been held down and even illegal for years, that’s why we fight and why feminism must continue its battle
our men’s game may still be awful, but i gotta say this is one area where the US has done extremely well (even if US soccer still acts like paying the women’s national team equally is an insane request)
I've tried to like womens footy but sorry its largely dire and the goalkeeping is embarrassing. Not for me sorry. I also resent the fact it constantly gets promoted without having earnt that promotion.
They're trying so hard to artificially inflate it, and it just isn't working at the levels they want it to. So much so, that they're now trying to handicap the men's game by pulling revenue and re-allocating it to the women's game. So far, it's just been a wash, but I guess they're willing to light the money on fire if it means "muh equality".
The idiocy of the American women's league knows no bounds. The quality of the women's game in the US has been remarkably high for decades now, but the primary women's league has made it a rule that they cannot, CANNOT, share the same name as their affiliated men's team, if they have one. Barca, Wolfsberg, and Chelsea for example have all built off the name recognition and money of their affiliated men's team and are large clubs in the women's game now as a result. Just insanity.
Plus with the same identity and colour it allows fans to associate more between the men's and women's. There's a sense of egoism amongst them, and Europe is going to demolish America's decades of dominance in a few years because of that
Excellent atmosphere at the final, but would love to see a video about a regular season match for a women’s team. I’m curious about the fan presence at less important games

Junk football....like watching paint dry.

Womens football are awesome. I remember when first time i saw womens game in 1994 and that was something new. But i really like it. Congeats for Barcelona. This is a really strong team. I feel sorry about Wolfsburg because i am big fan of Ewa Pajor. She is absolutely amazing. I hope she can won Champions League in the next time.
This last season was the first I've had a season ticket for Forest's women's team as well as the mens. I was rewarded with a league and cup double to go with Prem survival. I look forward to the day I go to see both at the City Ground, both matter to me just as much, and it's thought weird you only support one
1:09 imagine pulling up to this thinking you’ll see Barcelona FC players but then the woman’s team walks out 😂
Watched Arsenal v Brighton women a month ago. Absolutely banging match with a great atmosphere!
Lol

Here before the butthurt basement dwellers come to cry and complain about women playing sports
Great information, atmosphere, colour, and wit - brilliantly edited - one of your best reports!
Women's football has never been ''banned''
The football associations banned it.
@@TheHesseJames But they could still play football. It's not as tho the Police would run onto the pitch and arrest all the female players.
@@chandlerbingbong correct, but the existing men’s clubs were threatened to not support women in any way for example to let them play on their pitch.
Hydrate their neck 😅. Love your videos. I hope JustEat are sending you to Australia for the women’s world cup.
Women's world cup down under this year. Should be awesome. Hope you get down here to see it Neave.❤
I hope so Peter, on top of the football and brilliant country, I’ve actually got family in Adelaide and Sydney who I’ve never met, and would love to see.
@@stuntpeggnieve There's currently no broadcast deal signed in most of Western Europe, so that genuinely might be the way to see it. 🙃
I cant be the only stuntpegg fan who wants to see her on the pitch, playing.
I’ve got dodgy knees! I’d be no fun to watch. I do love a bit of 5 aside though, at the weekend
When people stop comparing the mens game with the womens game we'll all be the better for it.
Pants football.
Misleading visually impaired people into thinking they are at a Barcelona match should still be a crime.
Neck hydration is very underrated in the modern game.
very hyped. Barcelone vs Green W. i was rooting for Green W team, very exiting.go women so much very

Fifa threatened to black out coverage of the World Cup in England, France, Germany and Spain over money. The BBC have since tried to agree a deal

Yeah ban it again , its so poor , make up breaks, VAR for broken nails, hair pulling , no heading ! They stop the game for neck hydration , some of the games have basketball scores
Women's football banned for so long? The men in charge are way too precious and emotional...
If you ever come to the US, the Portland Thorns have a great atmosphere for the women's game.
Brilliant video as per usual💪 Ben fatto!

Women's football has been a huge reason why the sport has grown so much here in Canada over the last 15 years or so. Awesome to see.
In my city, Houston Dash has a Canadian trio. Nichelle Prince is injured but Sophie Schmidt and Allysha Chapman are still key players.
Canadian men have overcome them and women's team declining
my club (corinthians) is probably one of the biggest forces in South American women football. we regularly sell out big games at our stadium (48k), we are 3x libertadores winners and hopefully going for the 4th
And yet my team Palmeiras was ranked higher than Corinthians. Even in women's football you guys can't match us any longer!

I'm such a proud supporter of women's football and to see it take off in the amount of time I've lived here has been so great, ah my heart feels full ❤ Viv is just so cool, I love her so much ❤
Being in the stadium whiles seeing both my countries play against each other during the Euro's was quite surreal and the atmosphere was so brilliant!
Yes they do ...liar
Great video. Im headed to the Womens World Cup this year at home and im certain itll be a treat.
I really reckon Australia and New Zealand will smash the hosting, really hope I can get over 🤞
“Ladies kicking footballs is such a heinous crime”. You’re not actually wrong.
So are you coming to Australia for the Women's World Cup?
Why does Viv Miedema sound Scottish to me!??
Aside from that, I love the coverage of the women's game. I've been a Sheff Utd Womens season ticket holder this year, after watching the Euros semi final at Bramall Lane. The only reason I'm not renewing it is because I've not been able to go to half the games, but I'll still go to as many as I can, and maybe even a few of the men's PL fixtures!
Love that! And you’re not the only one who hears the Scottish. Viv’s accent is wonderfully bonkers
It really struck me too how odd her accent is. She was in a long term relationship with a Scottish player so she might have picked it up from her.
She used to be in a relationship with scotland international lisa evans so I think she's picked it up from living with her
The biggest surprise for me in this video is the number of Wolfsburg fans in attendance. They struggle to attract fans to their men's team at home, how do they draw a crowd to a game in Eindhoven? 😅
Big up Rochdale lass, we need it😂
😂 wouldn’t want to be from anywhere else
Up the Dale!
Me neither and I was brought up on Sandy lane👍
I wish it was broadcast more commonly here. If it was televised as much as AFL is I’d watch as much football as I could 😂
Sadly acl injuries hits women harder than men. The wider hips on women create a sharper angle and puts more pressure on knee tendons.
That's discrimination
Why put yourself through the suffering?
Seriously though, women playing a sport should never be "banned"........that's just daft. But be honest; the standard of the women's game is pretty awful; and is being used by wokies to make their usual boring points - then see Wrexham Reserves vs USA Women's national team?
It has it's place; but that is NOT being promoted alongside the Premier League. There's a big difference between a sport and an agenda.

First women's European Cup final was at Luton Town also home of an illegal women's football match between Marks & Spencer vs Woolworths after WW1
I’d love to see more content like this!
Amazing you could manage to get tickets, they must have cost an absolute fortune.
@@cyberdonblue4413 "Woke rubbish" way to make yourself look like a complete snowflake.

So far, it's just been a wash, but I guess they're willing to light the money on fire if it means "muh equality".
love Miedema's accent, a bit Scottish, a bit Lahndan, a bit Dutch. great video!
There's a sense of egoism amongst them, and Europe is going to demolish America's decades of dominance in a few years because of that
Miedma's so cool. I appreciate this video. Thanks for real
