    used to play this to my daughter who was called lyndsay, she changed it toi linzi, which i like, thanks for another good one

    When I first heard this song, I didn't think it as good as the later arrangement performed by the Corries. However now, having listened to it more times than I can count, I think I now prefer this version. It has a pure and unaffected simplicity to it that is extremely poignant.

    @uggyoggy9 still, it is true that Paddy Bell's powerful high soprano is combining with difficulty with the men's warmer tones. she seems to make efforts to sound less strikingly. but she never gets false and the instrumental also atones for the contrast.

    needs more feeling in the start of each chorus...like the ending done is spot on with the high and low drops
