Unless it is a change in the new expansions, you did not get the buildings right: some buildings have multiple stages. When you build a building, you flip over your build token - you can only build a building once per turn. But built buildings with multiple stages can be upgraded on a subsequent turn - the cost to do so is on them in a rectangular box. Once that building has been upgraded, you don't need to flip it over again to indicate that it has been used. It may not be a bad house rule if someone struggles to remember if they have used it (when relevant) but it isn't in the rules.
wow that was some fast speaking skills there haha :) i have also another question: so i backed and... what the heck do i do with all the monsters miniatures? if i didn't get a 'battlefield' was that called? expansion; are they otherwise uselesss?
i rly like this game. but everytime. we are 2 that spend almost as much time as 5ppl playing twilight imperium 4th.. not sure why :) i think it might be the combat that can be a bit long thinking wize.
The coop mode is basically scenarios where 2 or 3 players play solo together on the same map. Each does a bunch of PvE individually: building your city, army and hero and at the end each of the players must also individually get an objective. If either one fails, they all fail. You can trade resources between each other though.
Completely different games I'd say, having both of them. This one tries to be as faithful to the PC game as possible and it does so quite well. But it's absolutely nowhere near the RPG experience you're gonna get in tanares.
I don't think this is a good translation of the video game. It feels very much like another game entirely with Might and Magic plastered onto it. I expected the game to be a dice game with exploration at the forefront of the play. I don't like how it's made into a deck builder, as it turns secondary skills into a weird active power. Secondary skills were made to be passives you attain throughout your adventure to passively progress your character like an RPG passive skill tree. Creatures feel weirdly hollow as they don't have unique ways they interact with the battlefield. I like the town board though, beyond having to constantly flip your buildings to use them, it's interesting to see the towns somewhat realized if only superficially. Unfortunate but beautiful flop, IMHO.
@@TyphonLeTitan I'm sorry, but there are games more complex with greater variables than even Homm3. Deck builders aren't an exclusive avenue for variability and complexity,
actually no, the mage knight is way more bloated and messier even though it is a very good game and a great solo game ... MK is also hard to learn and remember the rules, my problem with Heroes is that player turns are too long , you can litteraly take a nap till your turn comes again ...that is my main issue ! Otherwise very good ...
It's actually not messy and nowhere near as complicated as MK. Though in my opinion, after just a few playthroughs it gets boring fast if you're not a hardcore fan of the original PC game.
@@Berndrdoing town actions in the meantime of your comrades actions + playing the neutral armies against them during battle does alleviate the issue a bit.
@@DukeJohnny I get it but I was playing it with 3 people and each player took 10-15 min turn , 30 min waiting for a turn is too long in a board game ... they should have made it that you can only do one thing in your turn or something to speed up the flow of the game

Give her a brake lol
Meg I think the chest behind you is a mimic !
Awesome! Looking forward to playing it!
Best board game ever i see !
This is in fact not as heavy as Mage Knight. But I love it. The decision space is there. I think it plays best solo because of the quick turns....

This excellent looking game thank you 😊

It's just one of those games that can take time
Super gameplay, a z frakcji to Cytadela/Nekropolia i sentyment do Cytadeli 😛
Can I recruit and upgrade units in the same turn?
Yes, but it must be at the same time :P. You cannot for example recruit at some point and then upgrade later in the turn.
How much co-op is in there?

I have Tanares. Do I just stay away from this and play that.

Totally respect your viewpoint, But it's also been very well received in general
It must be a deck building game, there's no other way to do it unfortunately.
@@TyphonLeTitan You sure?
@@DKannji 100%, there's no other way to integrate that much variables into a board game.

Deck builders aren't an exclusive avenue for variability and complexity,
When it takes so long to introduce the game, you know it will fail.
This game looks like a bloated mess. There's a reason brilliant complex games like mage Knight only have a few expansions !

This game is actually insanely good and relatively easy if you read the correct rulebook
