Parra was a monster in the field. Saw him with my Rockies for a few years. He truly had a cannon and wasn’t a big guy either. Also humble and a good teammate
@@DELUXNIXIE333 What do mean not like that? Right fielder, ball lands in front of you and throw a canon at first base before the runner gets there, there's not any other way you can do this. I'm not dissing Bautista if that's what you think as I'm a Blue Jays fan myself.
When the Royals had Melky, Gordon, and Francoeur it had to be the nastiest defensive outfield. As an Indians fan at the time I would scream at the TV not to try and extend plays
don’t gonna cap but starling marte is my fav player. he is so fun to watch and everything i like in a baseball player. im also a pirates fan so a bit biased
You just started a sentence with "don't gonna cap". Is this guy an outlier or are we genuinely becoming less intelligent like in that Mike Judge movie?
Outfield assists are weird as a statistic. Outfielder has to have a good arm AND the other team has to try to run against it in ambiguous situations. It's like Pass Defenses in football: you don't want the guy with a ton because teams throw to his side, you want the guy with no PDs because teams never throw in his direction.
I think Mlb players should try more often to throw out would be singles. It seems that the mindest is that if a grounder gets past the infield, it is an automatic base hit, and that is not always the case.
to pile up OF assists, runners have to be confident running against you..which likely means it is not a good measure of the best OF arms. Combine it with holds and then you have something

This is the best play in baseball. Love it

9-3 putout is one of my favorite plays in baseball.
Mine too. I was privileged to have achieved that throw a couple of times.
It's sad that most of them are no longer in the league.

No substitute for speed
nah but 9-3 is a VIOLATION
i thought parra was luiz diaz for a second
Ichiro would have probably had the most assists but too bad everyone in the league knew that when he was on the field you're gonna stay put.

Yeah but most outfielders are playing to deep to get the throw off
@trollingandtomfooleryInc. Most, but not all.
Love outfield assists. Altho, I'm sure there's "better" OFs that runners/coaches don't even gamble on.
The second throw by Adam jones was cool but the tag with the pick was very nice not gonna lie
GORDOOOOO
