The Emergency Guard was a feature added in Paper Jam, and carried over to the remakes of Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story. The Attack Combos are new to this game. Stache increases the chance of getting Lucky Hits, which are like critical hits in Pokemon.
I love the color pallette choices on this game. The whole aesthetic really. I feel like, if nothing else, Switch games have been gorgeous looking lately
The reason I love RPGs like Mario & Luigi + undertale is because you can dodge enemy attacks with your own input and even counter. That’s freaking awesome. There need to me more games like this honestly. Superstar saga (3DS) & Dreamteam are my favourites lol
There's kind of a "lore reason" why the Stache icon is Luigis mustache. In previous M&L games NPCs would often emphasize how amazing and well-groomed Luigis stache is, so I suppose it's canon that he has a nicer mustache than Mario.
I'll tell you now, Stache is basically luck. Higher Stache gives you a higher chance to get Lucky hits (basically critical hits), as well as give you discounts in shops.
Important to note: you can actually unequip items and have nothing in a slot. Also, there’s a special challenge that will grant unique rewards for defeating a ton of enemies with no equipment of any kind on both Mario and Luigi. As a matter of fact, there are similar challenges that are also worth trying to get that you can read about in the menu!
I hope you guys enjoy! The reviews have been pretty back and forth. I plan on playing eventually but I think I'll be waiting for awhile so I'll be watching this instead.
I would love to see you two play the Mario and Luigi games. Superstar Saga and Bowser’s Inside Story have 3ds remakes with extra content so those are the better ways of experiencing those games. Partners in Time doesn’t have a remake just yet and Dream Team have its own story. All of them are really good and charming!
1:50 I never played Sparks of Hope, but I remember this also happening in the Mario Movie. Seems like whenever Peach isn't the Damsel in distress, Luigi has to play that role.
Day 118 of requesting shovel knight dig or Pocket dungeon also sorry guys since I'm planning on playing this game my self I won't be watching any of these episodes so I hope you guys have fun!
29:50 STACHE is your luck stat. The higher it is, the more likely it is for you to get in a Lucky Hit, dealing more damage than usual. It used to also reduce prices for items bought and increase the sell value of your own items when sold, but this isn't the case this time around.
Boo Biscuits are effectively a training item. You can’t take damage, but you also can’t take turns or deal counter damage. They’re there to help you practice against enemy attacks without fear of taking damage
From what I’ve played so far, the first hour or two are pretty slow going, but everything else is literally perfect and it looks like this game is huge!
The first Mario & Luigi game I played was Bowser's Inside Story. It's still the Mario & Luigi game I've gotten furthest in, though still never beat it. I've also played the Superstar Saga remake on the 3DS. This will be my 3rd Mario & Luigi game and just from this episode, I can tell I'm going to have so much fun with it.
I've just got the game myself, and I really love it, I'll need to stay ahead to watch, but I'm very excited for this series too Also, I recommend checking the adventure log for the main story every so often, it shows the recommended level for the current story event, so it's good to avoid under or over leveling
That scene in the portal with the projections is a really great showing of visual exposition. Only a few pre rendered clips and we know exactly what's happening in this other world that to both us and the Bros is completely alien.
Waffled back and forth a bit on wether to watch this right away or come back after I'd played the game myself, but then I realized I'm not really in the right mental state to be able to start a new game like this and enjoy it on my own. So I'll be enjoying it vicariously through you instead! BLG never fails to make me smile. So far, this is as delightful as expected. And yeah, because I know it's not Charles Martinet, I can sort of tell the difference, but if it weren't for that knowledge, I'd never stop to think about it. They're doing a really good job. That tree even has a lightbulb at the top! It really IS the Sun! I've always loved the whole giant magical tree concept, so having one as the centerpiece for the game is really cool to see. I'm noticing that this game is being very good about having these tutorials geared towards player's first rpg. It's not surprising for a modern Nintendo game to be heavily tutorialized, of course, but it's just nice the way they're doing it, I feel, 4taking care to explain all the little things someone new to the genre wouldn't be able to intuitively get. Cool how even the basic attacks now involve both bros, that's sure to make battles more interesting. It's been a while, but at least in the original, stache was the luck stat, determining critical hit rate, as well as getting you a discount at stores. Shopkeepers love a good 'stache in these games! (also I'm glad they didn't bering back the level up bonus roulette, that thing was sure something I constantly felt the need to try and optimize) This was a great first part! Loving the game so far.
YES ITS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!! I probably won’t watch this series much until I get my hands on the game myself, but I’ll definitely come back to this series once I played a bit! I would explode with excitement if yall actually played the other Mario and Luigi games, those games are so good. I still regard Bowsers Inside Story as one of the best games Nintendo has ever made. A few extra notes: Many people have mentioned this already, but Stache affects the odds of getting a critical hit in battle. It may also have other benefits, it varies depending on the game. No idea if it adds anything extra in this game, but I am excited to see =D Boo Biscuits make you completely invincible, but you can’t actually attack or deal damage to your foes. They were first added in Dream Team and are meant to act as a way to learn enemy attacks and the proper counterattack methods Timing is everything in these games! Any attack you do that results into anything less than an Excellent! rating mean you hit something too early or too late. Those times that Mario attacked and just barreled straight into the foes mean you probably didn’t press B at the right time. It’ll just take practice! That’s all these games have ever been, learning how everything works and pulling off every button press at the perfect moment.
I don't remember what episode it was where you guys were talking about playing Octodad on the channel, but you guys totally should sometime! It has two-player mode for extra chaos!
I was really worried for this game since it wasn't being made by Alphadream, but so far it's felt very true to the original and fun to play. From what I've experienced so far I'd say it's third best in the series, ahead of Superstar Saga and behind Dream Team
FYI on the gear screen, pressing Y will remove the highlighted equipment so you can unequip gear. To that end you may want to do that now as (slight spoilers) ... ... their is an in game achievement system, one of the achievements is to win 300 battles without any gear equipped. I personally find that it is easier when the game doesn't expect you to have good/decent gear yet.
Wow, here i thought we m8ght be waiting till paper mario finish.i am so happy, though recently push ahead in zelda too, so i can contiune to watch more video. I hope you guys enjoy this game too
I love how the game looks it has that particular "indie game style" charm to it and the translation from pixel art is seamless (I love in particular how Mario and Luigi just jump to emote) Also pretty sure 'stache is crit change increase.
Hey the stache stat basically is the luck stat basically when your fighting an enemy you might get lucky and you will do more damage the more stache you have the more likely chance of that happening
So sadly I will not be watching this series either, One of my favorites series and I have to experience this for myself. But when I do I will be watching this fast.
I want this game but w/ Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D out next week, going to be very busy on that game. Possibly considering the voucher deal to get this game and Echoes of Wisdom even though i hate going digital heavy w/ such small storage. I don't know if i will watch more than the first episode from this channel but i felt like you two are very fun and engaging w/ games that i already like or am interested in playing.
Bowser’s Inside Story (DS) was the first and only other M&L game I’ve played, and I didn’t even get far as a kid with hardly the ability to read or focus on reading. But years later (within the last year and a half) I finally beat it (after restarting to actually be able to get a grasp on the plot and such)! And just that game was enough for me to have all the M&L games on my gaming bucket list! I _love_ Mario & Luigi and have been *_so Very excited_* for Brothership!! I’ve been avoiding spoilers for a while, but am now willing to watch close up to where I am in the story, and am *_very_*_ excited_ to enjoy this play through! P.s. Brothership has been _GREAT _*_fun_* so far! Edit: p.p.s. I too love all the emotions! P.p.p.s. I also can’t really tell a difference between old and new Mario & Luigi voices, the new voice actor is doing great! They really do just simply sound like Mario & Luigi to mii!
Day 165 of reminding everyone Ian drank Casey’s Nesquik. OOP! Sorry to do this to you again BLG but I’m waiting to play this game with my own brother. Don’t worry I’ll be watching real soon.
On one hand, I really like a lot of the artstyle changes made from the previous Mario and Luigi artstyle. On the other hand, are the brothers' hands a little bigger than usual?
Reminder for anyone who wants to avoid those spoiler thumbnail videos in the future, you can let UA-cam know you don't want to see it by clicking the 3 dots on the side of a recommended video and clicking the "Don't recommend channel" button. I'm going to try to leave comments on this series as it goes but I won't be able to comment on anything you both talk about because I want to play through it on my own first. The Attack Combos are new to this game.
Stache increases the chance of getting Lucky Hits, which are like critical hits in Pokemon.
Stache could also charm shop keepers into decreasing the price of items and gear in previous games. Not sure if that's still the case here though
Notably, “Critical” hits are still in the game, they’re just not related to Stache at all. They’re like… weakspot hits.
34:48 Stache dictates lucky hits chance, also I can not wait to play this for myself
IT'S HAPPENING
NOBODY PANIC!
I WAS WAITING FOR THESE GUYS TO PLAY IT, I MADE SURE I DIDNT LOOK AT A SINGLE SPOILER UNTIL THEY PLAYED IT, BUT NOW ITS HERE!!!
I love how one of the central game mechanics of this game is just "let him cook" luigi edition. 10/10
So far a few hours in and I’m loving it. The look, animations and the music especially. Feels great all Mario RPGs are back. ❤💚
I love the color pallette choices on this game. The whole aesthetic really. I feel like, if nothing else, Switch games have been gorgeous looking lately
AAAAAAHHHH, it's already out!!!
I was planning to wait until the Switch 2 came out to play this, but I guess I'm watching this for now.
The reason I love RPGs like Mario & Luigi + undertale is because you can dodge enemy attacks with your own input and even counter. That’s freaking awesome. There need to me more games like this honestly.
Superstar saga (3DS) & Dreamteam are my favourites lol
Fellow Dream Team enjoyer 🤝

Also historically, Luigi's mustache in all M&L games is always higher than Mario, Brothership has be the biggest difference so far.
When Mario was seeing Luigi hallucinations It was giving me "Mario the accident was 20 years ago, it's not your fault" vibes.
"This is the Chuck E Cheese of... Fortnite" - CaseyMcDang, 2024
This is my first Mario and Luigi game, and I gotta say...I feel like I missed out.
"Mario...it's been ten years, Mario...ya gotta let me go, Mario..."
I love that the opening paid homage to the Super Mario Bros Movie.
I'll tell you now, Stache is basically luck. Higher Stache gives you a higher chance to get Lucky hits (basically critical hits), as well as give you discounts in shops.
Well, thanks for the tip. Now I understand and get it.
I love watching Casey and Ian: Save the LEGO People
Hey it's another UA-camr I watch
@@Ax0_1t01omg hi?? i see we’re both BLG fans

I've never interacted with any of the mario & luigi games before, but this one piqued my interest
I still can't believe this game dropped on my birthday 😭
It's so interesting to see the M&L stretch and squish in 3D now.
YES! YESSSSSSSS! I can’t wait to play this myself, but for now I NEED to see you play it.

This episode really is the Chuck E Cheese of BLG parts
I like how in the thumbnail it looks like Ian, Casey, and Luigi are watching Mario run away
12:10 First 15 minutes of the new mario games is CRAZY aha
1:50 I never played Sparks of Hope, but I remember this also happening in the Mario Movie. Seems like whenever Peach isn't the Damsel in distress, Luigi has to play that role.
IM SO HAPPY U GUYS ARE DOING THIS ON THE CHANNEL!! MARIO & LUIGI IS MY CHILDHOOD!! ive already played this game for 10+ hours 😭
THEY’VE ALSO PLAYED BUG FABLES. WHICH IS A PAPER MARIO LIKE
Full on fullmetal alchemist vibes from the opening portal scene lmao. Truly brothership
Stashe effects discounts in shops and drops from enemies
Day 118 of requesting shovel knight dig or Pocket dungeon also sorry guys since I'm planning on playing this game my self I won't be watching any of these episodes so I hope you guys have fun!

Dunno who the voice actor is these days, but he nailed the "Luigi screaming Mario's name"
Boo Biscuits are effectively a training item. You can’t take damage, but you also can’t take turns or deal counter damage. They’re there to help you practice against enemy attacks without fear of taking damage
i love the gradient on their hats ❤ and the wiggle of mario’s belly!!! so cute

So it's official. The Mario and Luigi series is an isekai.
Words cannot describe how overjoyed I would be if Stache just did absolutely nothing. A for fun stat
Legit forgot it's coming out today.
Cool
LET’S FREAKING GO IM SO EXCITED
Ive never clicked so fast on a notification
Hey the stache stat basically is the luck stat basically when your fighting an enemy you might get lucky and you will do more damage the more stache you have the more likely chance of that happening
41:50 Keep in mind that by eating the item, you use your turn, so eating the boo cookie is kinda like if you wanna practice watching an enemy attack
You need to play Super Paper Mario! You would love it!
So sadly I will not be watching this series either, One of my favorites series and I have to experience this for myself. But when I do I will be watching this fast.
27:06 no you're not wrong, I do see the Sr.Pelo vibes
This game looks promising. Thank you for the great video, as always.

Stache tended to be something of a luck stat in previous games
unfortunately, my game got here late, so ill have to watch after i play a bit. Im very excited to watch though

We are SO BACK!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
I feel like Casey should voice Connie instead and Ian voice the the pig like guy.
Nah
Yo I’ve been looking forward to watching this game
not tryna promote other channels on yalls BUT the first battle transition screen yall get before the onion boi fight had major game grumps energy
Watching a LP of M&L bowsers inside story and by hour three there have been 24 tutorials so yea these titles can be a little instruction heavy.
Certainly, enough Tutorials for one Let's Player to make a running joke out of it
Stache is more of a luck stat. Luigi has always had more benefits of the player increasing it.
We need a playthrough of the fan favorite M&L game: Bowser’s Inside Story
On one hand, I really like a lot of the artstyle changes made from the previous Mario and Luigi artstyle.

yesss, totally the fanfic site e6.....
