This is proper AMSR, never change this style or add gimmicks. It's just interesting information delivered in the most relaxing and tingly way. Don't get me wrong I enjoy some of these channels who do the whole "production" thing, but this is just great! Subscribed! I have been listening to this as I complete my dragon drawing 😃

This is exactly the kind of ASMR I was looking for! I use all sorts of ASMR to relax and distract myself, but sometimes the only thing that works to put me to sleep is to try and pay attention to an interesting topic (seems contradictory, I know), and having it soft spoken rather than heavily whispered. Subscribed! :D

Good stuff delivered wonderfully; it’s interesting how science continues to support the philosophical/logical stance that free will or free choice is in fact a myth, there is no truly spontaneous thought; in fact, we simply record everything that happens and forget nothing (unconsciously), what we think of as independent thoughts are always influenced by memory (past experience) even if we are not aware of it…

It’s wholesome refreshing to find a channel like this. So much social media is empty entertainment. I loved the theory that our sentience arises from more complex and abundant neuronal clusters firing endlessly, creating internal thoughts about our selves. Please keep making science/philosophy videos for a long time!

I don't think thoughts are necessarily complicated, we have chemicals in our brain that shoot off and cause thoights. Most likely there was a God that made us and that's why we're far more intelligent than animals/monkeys and have the ability to express ourselves and be self aware. Having thoughts you don't like is completely normal, I have OCD so i constantly have to deal with my brain misfiring and repeating thoughts that I don't want to be thinking about. My point being I think the psychologists/intellectuals are overly complicating a simple issue. The idea that we don't have free will because our brains are hard wired to act is interesting but I do think we have free will and since these scientists can't even tell why we think how are they gonna say free will doesn't exist?

Allow me to venture a causal guess that most people after thinking about it would agree if correct necessitates a couple of problems with normal causal structures as Newton would probably have reckoned: they might come from your future self, like new ideas. Also, if you were to harness a technology that permitted you to outrun your own event horizons by superluminal momentum macroscopically you'd probably extend your lifespan as it wouldn't manifest like Back to the Future, but you'd probably interfere in a wave adding (de Broglie - Bohm interference patterns) way with the particles that you consisted of prior to the now you're in brain constructs a fraction of a second from now. It's the very same reason we saw a star get torn apart by supermassive black hole horizon's tidal forces rather than stuck on its surface frozen. Acceleration is quantized by quantum translation which occurs in multiples of Planck sized voxels and as your momentum increases you're probably moving in multiples of Planck lengths x 4 which is the smallest wavelength permitted in a spatial medium governed by parts that are a 2d representation whose size is 2h... I think that's right about the rules of waves propagating in a medium of a given metric the smallest wavelength of the things propagating must be 2 times that metric...if you equate it to entropons (quantizing thermodynamics) and gravity to being caused by entropic flow and all that you might see some interesting twists. Imagine if the cosmological horizon's area were compared to the size of all the internal horizons of black holes contained within it and the internal horizons are entangled with the cosmological horizon's voxels of entropy...you could have what seems like things flowing future to past to observers in the interior projections of the 2d horizons as well as past to future and this could also result in observational bias for creatures consisting of structures made of particles that terrestrially also move into the future. Yeah, I won't sleep thinking about this. Gotta sleep... I like the questions you pose and science reporting you cite.

Also sometimes I share this, the Bible says that GOD loves us so much that he sent his son JESUS CHRIST to this earth and HE lived a perfect sinless life. And JESUS went to a cross and gave HIS life for us.And rose again in 3 days and who ever will receive JESUS AS THEIR SAVIOR AND ASK HIM TO COME INTO THEIR HEART AND FORGIVE THEIR SINS,HE WILL TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN.

With all due respect there are so many more problems to solve than wasting time thinking about what thinking is. How about engineering a new fuel for cars or perfecting hydrogen cars? Or curing cancer. Physiological degrees are the most awarded yet the most useless degrees in the university system. Think if these guys/gals who got these degrees that do nothing and got real science degrees how many problems we could have solved

This argument is stupid and has always been stupid. Namely for the fact that there does not exist the infrastructure to support all these people being scientists. Research is expensive and funding is spread thin. But even if there were, these things ARE worth thinking about. Maybe not to you, but that's your choice to refuse a deeper knowledge. Why make life better and easier if not to enable us to think and enjoy more? What are we improving life for other than the sake of improving it if we are not doing art, philosophy, recreation, and connection.
Studying the mind, society, thoughts, and language provide helpful knowledge that is useful and we know this because societies throughout history fought to have these thinkers think on this shit.
You are being intentionally reductive to the point of idiosy far greater than that which you decry. Don't be so myopic.
We can make engines and do analysis of the mind and anything else we wish. We have a lot of baskets and even more eggs

    • @cb9746

Eh, just chill out a bit... by that logic, there's so many more things you - and all of us here really - could be doing other than watching youtube videos. There's nothing destructive or bad about this kind of research, and who knows if it may eventually lead to something greater.
