- It's the end of August now and it'll not be long before it's Christmas. This is the perfect time of year to plant some potatoes for the Christmas dinner.
In this video I show you how to plant potatoes the traditional way and give some handy hints and tips along the way.
I also sowed some Dwarf French Beans today as a little experiment to see if they will grow this late in the season. Lets find out.

Me and the hubby watch you this arvo, and you was saying how good you’re chits were looking. And my hubby says nothing like a good set of chits to get a bloke excited about gardening.then you came on say how you need to be gentle with how you manage your chits.. no good being all rough with them.. bet you nether thought this video was about a marriage relationship know how. I grow globe artichokes Leave it to flower most years. Watching bees sink into the carpet of lilac flowers is amazing. Adds structure to my plot too. I have to put in stakes otherwise they are blown down. Consider putting in a couple of stakes next season. Stunning plant for wildlife & it’s a tasty crop if you pick the large heads 🤩
Looking great Dave, and a great potato demo. I've not had success with late plantings myself, but the way the weather behaves these days you never know!
