Mate your energy is infectious!! Thanks so much for the vid, I just went out with a lure for the first time and didn't get a single bite. Meanwhile lady next to me with chicken mince bait was just reeling them in one after the other! Watching this definitely helped, can't wait to try some of these tips next time!

Cheers man, really appreciate that! Comments like that are why I make and share these videos!! Sometimes those fish like something one day and will switch, so change it up and before you know it your reel will be screaming!! Thanks again and good luck on your next trip!!

Hi mate where did you get your lures?

Usually just jump on Marine Deals and have them sent. Unless I stop by a local shop, can be hit or miss in person of course. Kahawai aren’t the pickiest though!

Is the kayak good and is it light weight

It’s definitely stable and it does do the job, price wise it’s a cheaper option than Viking etc
But it is heavy, you will definitely need some sort of trolley to move it on land
But the rudder works really well and I’ve been out in some rough sees and haven’t been tipped yet
But yeah if you want a premium fishing kayak maybe think of looking at something like Viking
If price is your priority then this is a great entry level kayak
      Hope this helps🤙

Did you purchase those lures under the brand name " Rapala "?? How much did you pay for them at the time .??? You could always have a orange or red flag on a stick on the back of your kayak to show others where you are.

Yes they’re Rapala X-raps 8cm version and they have a very erratic action the Kahawai just love. They are a bit more expensive from memory like $17nz but they do turn on the bite. Yes I’ve got a flag with a light now I’ve upgraded my kayak!
