All in all, you are not supposed to give a shit for whatever brand he skates. The commercial aspect of this sport is way more important than it should be.
All in all. ITS NOT A FUCKING SPORT! It's a lifestyle! There are people who skate. Then there are skateboarders! The people who skate fade away in time.
the rules aren't strict though, and "what looks good" changes from person to person. It's about perspective. Skateboarding is so much about individual expression with so many different forms and techniques that what you're saying i feel like is very inaccurate. if the rules were strict on form & technique, there would not be different types of style and everyone would do every trick the same way. as it is now, you're never going to confuse busenitz with torey pudwill or something for example. 2 very different styles...
I've always had a massive amount of respect for Ricky Oyola, and his part in Eastern Exposure 3, given I was pretty much born when that video came out('96), it will forever be one of my favorite video parts. And the fact that Ricky has respect and love for Busenitz like that, makes it even more fucking rad!
The key to his skateboarding style is total confidence in everything he skates. He skates full power without fear because he exactly knows how the board is going to react. The board never does unexpected things. When jumps he knows how it feels and what is going to happen. This is why, to me, he is the best skateboarder of all times.
Busenitz shoulda got SOTY several times in the past. the dude consistently rips. having the speed makes it better. gets played out seeing pros do their lines slow af.
It's hard to even think of skateboarders that skate as freely as he does while absolutely crushing. On top of that, watching him skate flat feels like a revelation. He's one of the best flatground skaters of all time and he's always booking it. It takes something special for someone to blow you away without even skating a spot or a park or anything at all.
I met this guy back in 2000 at a Volcom skate demo in Lawrence Kansas. Nobody even knew who he was and here I was just chillin with him. I was in the 6th grade.
Who remember boarderline in wichita Ks!! I remember seeing him for the first time in the late 90s in Ks. He was the Germanator lol that what we would call him dude was so good he would three flip to flat it was beautiful!! This was before he was pro!! I have so much respect for this dude!! One of my favorite!!
.." do you remember at what point, going faster felt better for you". 9:40 This is when the content of this video really sunk in for me. Definite ripper that I didnt know much about until the Thrasher cover
am I wrong or was there a Real or Thunder ad which had a mop bucket (kinda like the Propagandi album cover) and an orange background saying Dennis Buckets years ago
Kinda random comment based on Jake's comments on German. But, I've often heard Americans say that German sounds angry when spoken, but to non-native english speakers English sounds just as "angry" as German haha. Busenitz is the man!
going down as one of the best to ever do it, i remember seeing him live at the 08 x games that i dont care who won i was locked in on busenitz reynolds and duffel they were laying down some hammers looking way gnarlier than everyone while doing it at relative ease, i remember koston trying something technical and he bailed and busenitz went up and fs flip sw manualed the same box koston was trying stomething tech on.....just fucking around on his way back to the take off spot it was mind blowing
Man, I wish. He deserved it like 8 years ago, though, and got totally passed over. SBN, good skater, but Busenitz had really put his time in that year and really deserved it. I remember because I was in Prague that year, and his footage was fucking unstoppable, so good that year, 2008.
first time I heard of him was in 2019. I didn't have skateshoes so my parents found some online and bought them for me, when I got them they had Buzenitz on them, I looked at it and was like who tf is this guy? looked him up and turns out he's this rad, awesome skater.
I don't know who else could pull off that bank to bench switch nose manny so effortlessly at 4:52. I'm sure Daewon could wobble and twist first try, but Busenitz handled that weird transition with style and speed.
I could watch Busenitz footage all day
I'm in love with the fact we can watch amazing things like this just for free! Thank you! It was awesome to see and learn something more about Dennis!
i can watch him skate for days nonstop! 13:50 mins of dennis is not enough! i demand more!!!
watch his skating in slomo and it still looks regular speed lol
Dennis is the fucking man! A complete all around skater. Love his speed, love his style. So glad he skates Adidas
All in all, you are not supposed to give a shit for whatever brand he skates. The commercial aspect of this sport is way more important than it should be.
There is no rules in skateboarding
its an art form, so its technique and form, its what looks good, its got strict rules. clowns think otherwise.

Always a favorite but it really says a lot when you get praise like that from the LEGEND, Ricky Oyola!!
Benji Garcia earning that east coast recognition

he's one of those guys like Janoski, he's your favourite skaters favourite skater :)

I started skating in 2011 and Dennis was my first favourite skater, he inspired me alot. Het still is one of my favourites!
skateboring I started a year or two before that and it’s same story for me!
Watching him skate in person is a TRIP.
Can you comment on Dennis’s height? From the footage he looks kind of averGe sized, but he’s listed online as 6’ 10” or 204cm!!
@@Rufusdos No fkn way. he is maybe 5'10" .
@@DIGITLRIZZ That's what I thought. Cheers. Try googling Dennis Busenitz height, all you get is nonsense!
This made me so , damn, happy!! What a bloody Godsend.
that hippy jump around the pole was astronomical 💪😎 even had Daewon explaining how it went' priceless bro,,, DB' awesomeness
Neil Lang he did it right as I read that
Diese Geschichte ist unglaublich, sie zeigt das nicht nur amerikanische Skater das Potenzial haben um irgendwann riesig zu werden!!!
Definitely one of the best ive seen
Busenitz shoulda got SOTY several times in the past. the dude consistently rips. having the speed makes it better. gets played out seeing pros do their lines slow af.
This made me smile too much.
Dennis, down to earth und mächtige Eier. Hammer sympatische Kombi. Ich liebe den Typ! Rock on Dennis!!!
Busenitz Always gets me stoked to skate!!!
"The person skating and the type of skater they are, leads them to a certain place" legendary comment.
this is pure gold! hall of fame episode/edit. thank you

They're really going all out to get him SOTY.
Hopefully, he deserves it. Evan smith & Kyle Walker are good contestants as well i think
Nediler and figgy
Tony Sanches My bad, cant forget Figgy!
I feel like it's down to Dennis, Tiago, Figgy, Evan smith and Kyle walker. One of those dudes is our SOTY
Dennis is well deserving but damn if Figgy or Evan don't get it. Its a hard SOTY choice, feel bad for Jake for having to decide lol.
