I think it was Leslie who mentioned in an interview that in other tournaments that she was in (Code Red) they weren't trying as hard because they didn't feel they really had a chance to win against teams stacked with Pros/Immortals/Radiants. But with this tournament the teams were so balanced (shout out to John) that you can't just play around because one play can be the difference between winning and losing.
The toast team had a huge epic comeback . Like they didn't relay on anyone to carry the game they all just had amazing team work and Comms and overall the whole tourney was so fun
I wonder how Lily's team which had good fps players like myth also masayoshi who's good too couldn't get the W. But I'm happy cos I rooted for team Toast🤗
I think everyone in this team has always been that second guy that frags out, but gets outshined by the first frag u know? Now the underdogs have United and unsurprisingly u get airtight teamwork, since they’re so used to playing off of each other! Amazing!
Yeah I know what you mean, it's like they gathered a team of 2nd best players, not the usual MVPs but great supporters and then they came together as a whole unit and became the one best player in the entire tournamen as a team.
@@flipmonke because the highest rank in their team was only plat. The other teams had diamond or immortal players so of course, at first glance, you'd think they'd perform better. no no. Kris just peeked, and Toast just coincidentally jump out distracting John. Kris was shocked too when he reviewed the vod after the game that Toast jumped out.
One of the main reasons they won is because they did not lose hope or mald after the first few rounds of stupid loss. Yes, the first few rounds, Toast's team lost terribly, but they came back because they were supportive and comm'ed. Unlike a team of players who have better game sense, and hence get frustrated with the plays made by their own team! Just
They mostly didn't lose because of stupid reason tho (not saying you said that, I'm just saying). Attacking on split is really hard objectively and the fact that team toast had one of the most defense sided comp just make it harder. But I do agree on everything you say, their strong mental really made a huge impact.
Wish rae had streamed her game, we only got a few clips of her from other streamers. she got some really sick kills and clutched a lot of rounds for them! She played so smart and patient. Her utils also gave them control on site. Great performance from all of them, it was really fun to watch!
It's a good call for Rae on her part to not stream especially she had incidents with her chat that happened before the charity event. Her chat would more likely affect her mood and morale during the tournament.
when toast and rae in ur teammates, they'll gonna keep encouraging you till the end.. that's things gonna build your confident up again even after u almost lost the game.
I remember when the roster first came out people called them the underdogs/least likely to win because none of the 5 are incredibly high ranked (plat or higher) like some of the other teams. Also none of them really main duelists and play sentinels/controllers more (remember someone in peter’s chat saying wow no duelists good luck winning). The key winning factors for this team was their insane coms, the ability for each team member to call shots when needed and communicate that with their team members well, and gathering info/delaying pushes with their utility. They also played super safe and patient when it came to attack and defense, and rather than focusing on picks and engaging in 1v1s they focused on the bomb itself, whether it was planting/post plant and holding sites, watching bomb, and retaking a site to defuse. I noticed a lot of the other teams where the skill set was more uneven you had a select few players calling the shots and giving instructions whereas team toast was each able to hold their own and call shots quickly and strategically. Everyone was able to contribute in some way and played their role incredibly well. Makes them playing as a team, so crucial and ultimately leading to their win. Lily’s team for instance needed scarra to play with them more and be utilized as a duelist so its not just myth leading the entry, they needed to communicate their strategies and the positioning of the enemy team better (ex: 17:27 peter being able to pick them off on rafters with their backs turned and no one explicitly calling his position out), as well as lily and Brooke being able to call their own shots at times rather than relying on John or Myth to give them instructions. Things might’ve played out differently if John was to play a duelist like Jett and entry while scarra handled smokes, myth didn’t repeatedly try to go against toast’s judge in mid, and 19:43 John helping to secure the plant rather than going into post plant position and leaving Lily and Brooke to secure site and plant.
Fully agree!! Otv did tweet that this was their first tournament so I’m assuming there will be more to come and I hope the rosters stay the same as I absolutely love Team Toast’s synergy and teamwork 💜
