I’m with you, I don’t like them that much either. The odd colour, leather and hardware combination will sometimes make me smile but I always wish for the combination on another brand and style of bag. The Hermes electric blue and palladium made me buy a Proenza Schouler bag in the same combination for £1400 and I wear that bag so much more than my Chanel Reissue. It has literally replaced my Reissue, she doesn’t even get a look in 🤷🏽♀️
I would be very interested to hear your story about Chanel and what happened to turn you off of the brand so much. I'd love to hear about your experience if you ever feel comfortable making a video about it.

Me too. Recently, I find myself looking into other brands that aren't Chanel. I'm not happy with the overall direction of the brand and their quality issues are too significant not to notice. If anything, I now have a greater interest in vintage bags and older season collections from Chanel.

Hi Jessie, yes I have completely altered 70% of my bag collection since the end of 2019, partly due to having the time to reflect and evaluate my belongings (covid) and partly due to serious illnesses (not covid). Most of the bags I farewelled were in new condition because I had so many and I'm careful and rotation was high. I have donated or gifted most of the ones that didn't truly belong with me anymore (I sold one for a significant loss and frankly that is less satisfying for me than donating). My perspective regarding donating versus selling is that I've already paid for the item, I've learned from it, so someone else who wouldn't have been able to afford it can own it and enjoy it for a less significant cost. I now only own clothing, jewellery, shoes and handbags that 100% reflect my style and sense of self and I'm grateful for having the privilege to experience every single (good and bad) experience I have had and then learnt and grown from it. Other people's perspectives on my choices and journey are mostly irrelevant because their perspectives fit with their worlds, values, beliefs, income and lives and while their perspectives provide alternative points for reflection, only I live with the consequences of my choices in context of my world, so I do what fits for me and allow myself to enjoy the journey. I am especially grateful for the serenity that the strength of unwavering clarity and my boundaries and preferences bring to my world and I've achieved that through trying things and learning what is right for me. Life is for living🙂
Very intrigued about what happened with Chanel to put you off the brand? Please do share with us soon, as I feel this will help us understand the 180degree turn in your collection. No judgement at all, as I am also drifting away from Chanel but for me it’s more about the greedy price increases and lousy service in the boutique which does not feel luxurious at all. Plus I am realising that as much as I love the Chanel styles they are too dressy for my casual lifestyle so I’m not wearing them much at all. For this reason I am now more drawn to LV canvas bags which I can use everyday. Only 12 months ago I never thought I would buy LV monogram but last week I bought the Speedy 20 and absolutely love it, it’s just so cute, adorable and best of all practical for my lifestyle! I wonder if I should sell some of my Chanel bags to fund more LV bags?! 😝

In 2020 I sold my bags, I wanted to curate my collection. I made a list of bags for every occasion, travel, minimal, backpack, work, evening etc. I made a list of the bags I wanted to buy sell and keep. I completed my collection and decided that I would buy a bag twice a year, birthday and Christmas. I bought a bag for my birthday this year (and got a free Fendi bag) and will not be buying one for Christmas because I’m just not feeling like it. I’m pretty much content with banking my money. I like being even more liquid than before 😇

Like you, I’m kind of turned off to the brand now, and for me it’s because of the outrageous price increases and not sure if the style is too “loud” for me now. Hermes seems more understated in a way. Love your Hermes collection!

I haven’t bought a luxury bag since 2014. Nothing really impresses me anymore and I’m pretty happy with what I have. I do still love watching handbag videos on UA-cam.
I love Loewe and have many puzzle bags, so I'm biased there for sure. I had one Hermes Trim II bag in raisin and I loved the color but the style wasn't for me, sold at a loss. I also sold a Chanel season mini for a small loss. Glad I tried but I learned what works along the way. We live, we learn, and we evolve. ❤️
Hey Jess I was just thinking after seeing that first set of bags you sold… you seem to have very warm undertones in your skin and hair. Maybe all those cool blues just didn’t fit with your color season? All of your bright Hermes bags look very you and also match the brightness of your personality. I think they are a better color season match for you - maybe warm spring? Food for thought!

I truly love your Hermès collection. I am also someone who is very brand loyal, at least when it comes to fragrances. But my tiny bag collection also mostly consists of two brands: Vivienne Westwood and Longchamp; let’s say I stick to affordable brands for now. In fact, I can see the appeal of getting different styles from one brand. To be honest, although I like the look of the Chanel bags you owned, your current collection seems to be more versatile.
With fragrances I consciously did not try “new” brands just to save me from “having” to buy into another brand. I guess this only makes sense to collectors 😂, but I’ll also stick to my two brands when it comes to bags. Finding a brand that resonates with you and your personality is just the best thing that can happen to someone who is passionate about something.

Congrats on your latest collection I so agree with you I’ve gone through the same thing with different bags during Covid I completely decided to buy into LV monogram, which I had bought in decades completely bought a whole wardrobe, and then I found the brown The Row and completely fell in love with it and now I have sold all of my Louis Vuitton and other brands all of the clothing that is not the row and have completely revamp my entire wardrobe consisting entirely of the row so it’s a matter of personal taste and comfort in what you feel amazing in and growing and learning what looks best on you, so I applaud you, for being a risk, taker, and jumping in and doing what you love have fun

Hi Jess, I love your video and your current bag collection. In my opinion, your current collection is better because with Chanel it's essentially same style (flap bag) just in different colour whereas with Hermes there are many styles and their colours and leathers look AMAZING. YES, I think you should still get a Loewe bag once in awhile especially when you see one that you love because it's such a beautiful brand too. It's ok to have a few bag regrets, I know I do when I stupidly sold some of my bags in the past. Just didn't appreciate them as much as I did later but I try not to dwell on that 😊❤🌺

You have a very nice "curated" collection. I think that yours has a nice range of colors, it feels elegant and timeless and that it agrees with your personality. I know you are not a fan of Chanel anymore, and thats totally ok, you have evolved! Chanel is what most of my current collection is now. I do have a few Hermes pieces, I was lucky to be able to pick a few in store. Now I am finally finding myself at purse peace. Its a good feeling to be there.

I’m really getting into luxury jewelry at the moment, so I’m selling quite a few of my bags to fund some jewelry pieces. I feel like I’ll get a lot more wear and joy out of jewelry bc I can wear multiple pieces at a time or some all of the time. Still love bags though , always my first love ❤

I think your current collection seems to suit your personality more. The colors are brighter and more fun. Plus, whatever turned you off of Chanel had to have impacted your enjoyment of your bags, so probably best to have sold them. I'm planning a big destash in the New Year, time to pare down and refine and only keep what I enjoy most.
Great video! I just sold my bubble gum pink mini coco handle to fund Gucci and Ysl! I was having too many issues wearing the coco handle Chanel bag and it was almost making me angry every time I wore it. Bags are meant to make us happy, so definitely wasn’t going to hold onto something that didn’t bring me joy 😄. I still love my other Chanel bags, though!

Jessie loved yr Chanel collection. Also love yr Hermés Collection, if yr really into the H brand stay with what you love. Imo I don’t think you’ll get the use of another Loewe bag. The choice is ultimately yours, just be happy. Great video TVM 😘💐

While the K28 malachite was a pretty bag, if you are honest with yourself, you'll realize you wouldn't wear it it you still had it. Most of your bags are much brighter and you have a black K28. Love what you have 💕
Jess your thoughts are interesting. You should buy what you like. I have a couple of Chanel bags including the Dubai glove gist bags I am selling bc I also have the shell bag.I like them for a night out. A couple of specialty colors of Chanlel flap bags would be fun. I am also selling a brand new MCM wallet to help the bank account. I love LV bags for everyday/ running errands. Noe, vintage St Cloud. I adore Hermes - esp Lindy and Bodine. I have a couple of Valentino and super heavy ostrich Prada I can’t sell bc they came form my Mom and my sister and I have a no sell agreement The ostrich bag looks like a Bodine.

After so many bags I really only love the Chanel classic flap in medium and square mini... Let me know how much u want to sell the red one for! I also felt very good selling my Chanel 19. While I used it a lot, I didn't love it as much if it makes sense 😅 it's ok to want another loewe bag! Their quality is comparable to hermes actually. I might want to consider a lindy 26 too but it's so hard to get.. Let's see 😊

Hey Jessie, oh no what happened to your Loewe puzzle bag! Keep us updated on how it goes. I've been using mine nearly on a daily basis and it does need some TLC. Might take it to the boutique first. I wouldn't delve into Loewe too much, it'll be hard to let go of the bags if you change your mind. I think Hermes offers a vast range in terms of style, colour and leathers and will hold their value more. Hopefully, you'll be more content with your collection. I can only imagine how tiring it is to change your entire collection. I'm not a collector, but I'm really thinking about what a need versus what I want lol. There are only so many black handbags one can have!!!

LV Kusama collection is really something special. I'm thinking about getting an Alma PM, love the unique look.
Chanel is a particular look and it has an image load attached to it that's questionable.
The bags have very little capacity, unlike LV or Louwe or Hermes.
Loewe bags too similar to Hermes. IMO.
Focus on Hermes you have the interesting and one of the best Kelly collections. A great 2022
Changing your collection from mainly Chanel bags to Hermes bags make sense when you look at them from a quality/ longevity stand point and when you discuss the ability to have them reconditioned and/or refurbished by Hermes. When you’re older you may change some of them out for lighter bags but who knows.

Hi Jessie I’m like you I also sold off almost all off my Chanel to fund my Hermes and I have no regrets. I’m curious to find out what ended the Chanel fantasy for you. I still have about 3 Chanel bags left but also debating whether to also let them go eventually …. I’d stick to Hermes. Unless you need a non H bag for more casual purposes I’d just stick to H . I went through exactly what you did. Turned around my Chanel bags to form a Hermes collection. I just went right off the style..quilting, big cc logo, chains. Once I went off it and alongside all the quality issues I found the brand 🤮

Beautiful collection. Chanel can get boring imho. I like change, but won’t afford Hermes. Love that you have multiple choices in colors/styles/sizes. And I’m totally with you on the Kering Group bags. So glad to see the Luxury community (disappointingly not all) are paying attention to their reputations and images with that regard.

I think your collection is beautiful! Honestly the Chanel logo feels to me a bit…over the top and tacky to me these days. I know that’s an unpopular opinion but I much prefer the elegance of the Hermes bags. I think you made the right decisions and thanks for sharing your thoughts behind it.
