Its definitely addicting. My question isnt how addictive it is in terms of a percent bit how severe it compares on average to other addictions such as opioids and benzodiazepinez

I think it's higher on the risk scale than some are willing to admit. I also think it's due to the very concentrated, high thc content in the legally available Marijuana from dispensaries. I live in Arizona and I've watched a lot of people pretty much get hooked on weed. And it looks like they get very complacent with being complacent. Which translates to them melting down over normal stress when they aren't stoned. We used to call those people burn outs. But it's very concerning since it was people who were overall functioning already but created stress to keep medicating. And being medicated is their number one goal despite consequences for it. Looks like a full blown addiction to me. I was a heroin addict for many years and the drug seeking behavior is exactly the same. The emotional damage from the Marijuana I would say takes longer to manifest than a drug like Meth or opiates or even benzos, which can take a long time to show dependence. This is anecdotal of course but I am currently in outpatient treatment for my addiction, 4 years in clean😊, and I am in groups with others and some are there for Marijuana. I never thought I'd see some shit like that. Ever.

I was in denial about it for a long time. The main withdrawals I got from it were irritability, insomnia and vivid dreams but behaviorally it was really hard for me to stop doing and would have been with or without those withdrawals.

I don't doubt you for a second but the thing is it's not ubiquitous. I have never experienced any type of withdrawal symptom from the cessation of cannabis. I've gone from heavy, daily use for months, sometimes years, to stopping cold turkey and without issue. I don't have trouble sleeping, I don't get irritated or anxious anymore than my baseline, but this is the big one for me: I've never felt a craving for THC ever. I know what it's like to crave a substance, btw. I struggled with a morphine addiction for several years in the 2000s. I've been sober for more than a decade now and I still struggle with cravings for opiates. I don't understand this push to classify THC as addictive because I believe I, myself, an evidence to the contrary. I'd even be willing to be evaluated by qualified medical professionals about my claims. Another thing is I'm not the only one.
Anyways, thank you for sharing your experience and for considering mine.

If people are raving about how good something is it’s usually too good to be true kind of like Kratom and that zaza stuff

Super addictive, not in the same way as harder drugs. Weeks of insomnia and nightmares, weeks of anxiety, cravings depression. THC is over 1000 times more potent than our own endocannabinoids. Of course it’s going to produce neroadaptation and decrease of endogenous cannabinoids = withdrawal symptoms.

Synthetic cannabinoids exist and yes in very rare circumstances you could be buying hemp flowers (CBD) or weak bud that has been sprayed with Synthetic cannabinoids to seem more "potent"
