I absolutely love your favorite jeans cover & know how I’m going to use my old favorite jeans that are just stored away because I didn’t have the heart to throw them out! LOL
I just love, love, love this journal and I can really tell that those Jeans meant a lot to you. My favorite has to be your tassel Bookmark! GORGEOUS! Your corner page bookmarks are just out of this world. You are so creative and inspired me bunches, that matchbook notebook is adorable. TFS! What a lucky partner, I am sure she will love it!
Thank you very much for the very kind comment - I really enjoyed making this journal and I hope that you have fun creating your journal too. I'm very happy to have inspired you. Have fun!
This is amazing! WOW It is so full of interest. I don't know where to start in saying how much I love what you have done! So many fabulous ideas. I think anyone who received this in their swap would be thrilled with it! Tfs
Omgosh I absolutely love this!!! What a great idea!! I just love the cover, all the details throughout and the butterfly beads dangles on the back cover...I adore it all!! I'm a jean shorts person so I totally get it! I even thought, hmmm those butterfly dangles would look amazing on the shorts while wearing them!!!! Lol. Thanx for sharing I love this!!! 💙💙💙
@@KellyBellcambridgegiftsbykelly Thanx for the response! I was checking out some of your videos since I just found you today. I hadn't seen any recent ones so I'm so happy to hear from you! You have beautiful eyes btw! Will you be doing more journal videos...I would love to see them, you have a gift!! Well have a blessed day and God bless!! ✌🏼💜
@@melindamarie6139 Thank you. I have a lot of "stuff" and still enjoy making things but I haven't done a video in a very long time - in YOuTube Standards anyway. You never know if I will pop up again - but I don't currently have any plans. I hope you are inspired to create something fun and beautiful. You are very kind. May God bless and keep you too. Take care.
@@KellyBellcambridgegiftsbykelly Awe thank you!!! I have been struggling a bit with energy for all the things I am inspired to do lol besides that I am. Thank you again! God bless ✌🏼🙏🏼💕
Thank you - I really loved making this one. Unfortunately, I traded this journal and it's living in France right now. I looked to see if I took a photo of the bag and didn't find one. Sometimes remembering to take pictures is the hardest part. LOL. Thanks for watching -
Was checking out different junk journals and came across your video. Just love this denim junk journal and how you recycled your shorts -especially the tassel! 👍🏻👍🏻 Just gorgeous overall! Thanks for sharing 💕 warmly, Lynne from Scrapbook Sundries
Thank you! This was a very fun project - I really enjoyed it and all the extras were inspired by the shorts and going through my stash - it's amazing sometimes what is hidden there. Thanks for watching and commenting! Very appreciated.
Hi Debbie - thanks so much for watching - I'm very out of practice but loved making this journal - you've been doing some gorgeous work too. Love it all.
I absolutely love your denim junk journal! It's like you read my mind for a denim junk journal that I've been stocking up on to make lol except for the tassel... which I loooove! I will definitely have to try fraying some denim and attempt one myself! Your whole project turned out really awesome! Tfs hugs Renee
Thanks Renee for such a kind comment - the journal was fun to make and has so much more potential - you should definitely try one. Thanks for watching -
The cover is a masterpiece all on it's own!! I really like all the creative and new ideas you included. I enjoyed your video and I subscribed to your channel too. 😊
Thank you so very much - Making these journals is just a blast and a great way to try out ideas. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thank you for subscribing.
I was born in the late 50's. Through grade school, we could wear pants on Friday, but never denim. In high school, we could wear pants any day, but denim on Fridays only. Funny rules to look back on.
Ms. Kelly, I love watching your junk journal videos (along with your stitching vids) but I wonder if you could offer suggestions on how to use them in our everyday lives. They have beautiful tags and clips that are just lovely, but again, what would be a couple of practical ideas for those? Jot down little notes, glue things like ticket stubs etc? I'd love to try junk journaling oneday, so getting a good mental visual of how I could use and appreciate them would inspire me to perhaps create one of my own in the future.Your videos are very inspiring! You are a true artist. Thank you!
Hello again! I can certainly do a journal with me video and give some ideas on using this kind of journal. It would make me happy. Thank you - I loved making this journal - I forgot how much I love the feel of denim and it makes the journal extra soft and tactile. (that is one of the greatest things about the journals - just handling them and turning the pages - very therapeutic.) Thank you for the kind compliment - and for watching - happy creating.
Hello Kelly, amazing journal so absolutely creative and the details are on point girl. I just found you and had to watch this video I was born in 1960 so I was a child in the sixty's to.i could wear jeans though. Well I subbed so I'll be back crafty lady!😊😊😊
Hi Patty. Thank you - I feel bad that I've been away for so long - I've had the flu thing since before Christmas and just can't seem to shake it - cough, when I talk so videos right now, don't work. I will try to do more hopefully soon. Thanks for watching! Take care.
Some people are unhappy - others may just hit the wrong icon. I don't know - I just figure if it makes someone feel better to try and do damage to someone's confidence - it may as well be me - I try not to let it bother me. I do these things because they make me happy and I share in the hope that someone else may try to create something too - I know it makes me feel much better to sit and work on these things. I truly appreciate your comment - thank you for watching.
Another adorable journal! Is there a book or website that has information on junk journals? I would love to try & make one. Thanks for sharing this project. 🤗 Sharon
Hi Sharon - I'm glad you like it - there are loads of very talented junk journal makers here on UA-cam - I'm not an expert - I love delygirl1961 and Jibid Neary - they are really good. Many people use pre-made downloadable kits (delygirl1961 makes her own and sells on ETSY). I have never used those kits though - I have always tea dyed or stained my own paper and printed my own images off the internet. I am happy to help you through it the best that I can if you have questions. (and the crafting community - like the stitching community is very friendly and helpful) Thanks for watching - Kelly
Thank you so much! It wasn't easy to decide to cut the shorts up - but I will never be able to wear them again - so they went to a good cause - crafting! I made a bag for the journal out of the rest of the shorts so - nothing was wasted - yay! Happy Crafting - thanks for watching.
To fray the denim you just start on the cut edge and begin pulling the weft threads which leaves the warp threads loose. I usually will sit and pick at the threads with a pin to be able to pull them. Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much Mary. I think I used part of a manila folder inside the fabric to give it stability. Thanks for watching - take care - happy crafting.
Hi Lottie - I used part of a file folder as the base and encased it with denim by sewing around the outside edges. I had a lot of fun with this one - I love adding on unexpected things. I'm glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching and happy journaling!

You're talking about the journal like you're going to sell it. Or, looking at the date, maybe even sold it. But it was made from your favorite jeans. Why didn't you just keep it for yourself?
