Magnificent words well written but who listens? Everything you say speaks sense, but somehow the power has shifted from the adult to the child. I knew when I'd met my limits when it hurt or I scared myself and mostly there wasn't an adult in sight. How have we come to this, where parks are empty and any interaction with an adult is suspicious? I loved talking to the old people in my neighbourhood and they enjoyed telling me their stories. That's how society is meant to be, otherwise what is age and wisdom worth?
I play this song for my six year old daughter. I hope that she never loses that twinkle in her eye that all of us have when we're little that most of us lose as we get older. And I just keep reminding her that the world is at your feet don't be afraid to be the light that shines through the darkness.
