Spot on interference... she was an amazing interview ... and what is she talking about Hide behind the brand?! She should be front and center ... heck in a way she is the brand... she is like a 1 person band out there doing it all herself... wish I had a larger audience to share this amazing interview with but either way she should see some new sales off of even this. And i was thinking value for $... she left Anubis just below and extrait to keep the price down since its still an EDP... Some brands (we all know who) pump the concentration up to pure parfum or extrait so they can double the price and discontinue the EDPs 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Enjoyed completely..I only have Salome as it is more popular in community..however I enjoyed Anubis,Angelique, Tabacco Rose & Dryad in respective order..looking to add these sooner..Bengal rouge is equally good but reminded me of Hans Hedley Bourban extrait & Rania J Amber loup…completely agree with Liz on dozens of indie perfumers coming out everyday now..this kind of pushing me to vintages & for that Ramsey is the man…eagerly waiting for your next live with Anooj..hopefully soon

The most beautiful indie parfumer in the world. This was very informative. Liz has so much talent for creation, and all that by herself alone. Fragrances from the past decades involved into today's indie creations. Thank you Ramsey for this interview...
Liz is an incredible inspiration and a ray of light. This is such a great interview all around and I'll be recommending it to anyone who is interested in understanding the current explosion of indie perfumery and its history, for better and for worse. I started learning perfumery in early 2010 when, as she describes, there was very little information available about how to create fragrances and an obvious stagnation in the industry/marketplace. I became aware of her in 2015 because of her monumental interview on Kafkaesque, which was the first time I'd read such an honest and meaningful description of the creative process of perfumery from another self-taught perfumer. So much of this is relatable and when she talked about wanting to hide behind her brand, my jaw dropped because that's been my experience and was part of my inspiration for my brand name. Really can't say enough good things about her putting indie perfumery on the map and doing it well - and thank you for doing such a good interview.
Thanks CL and it is good to see you comment on the channel... you sir have an open invitation to come on our humble little channel anytime my friend 😊 Although to be fair I dont know your work yet outside of film noir which I absolutely love 😍
@@RamseytheRam I'd be more than happy to send you samples and I would be honored to be featured on your channel, though from what I've heard you may be completely swamped. That's something I completely understand. I can't promise to be as articulate, professionally accomplished or as sexy as Liz, I'm more on the nerdy and insular tip, but I've traveled a similar path, I've seen the same recent history firsthand,I had similar thoughts and a similar approach (except in my case lacking any education or contet with fine fragrance at all) and have recently gained a similarly enthusiastic following for similar reasons. However, if you like people who have swum against the stream, I may be interesting to you and your audience and I seem to be having a small public moment recently, which I really hope will continue to expand.

What a blessing to have this interview, Ramz. It was so relaxing to listen to, and yet I was almost at the edge of my seat...like how the final piece of Tobacco Rose came about! Yess! I'd love to have more like this if you could find such a amenabe guest. As a side note, truly, I have too many frags (a fraction of what many have, no doubt), and would be happy with what I have if I stop collecting. It's the wise choice (cuz i'd save a lot of money)-how many fragrances does one really need? Goodness me to ask this qurstion. But my nose continues to develop almost at an accelerated rate (probably it's my appetite, lol). I enjoy more deeply (understanding my frags more and more) and I'm thrilled when I can learn something that maybe few know, or that I can apply...like in this video. Edit: Couldn't wait to get home at 2 am and spray two fall-winter frags on each arm (Gucci Guilty Absolute and Club de Nuit Intense for Woman-there's something intriguing about the latter, despite it's a cheapie that I adore...don't judge my neophyte level) and listen to this blog again in more a relaxed mood.
@@RamseytheRamHa ha...up so late, brother! I look forward to the next installment and the House of Papillon. From Ottawa, Canada, thank you so much again and again! So exciting. By the way, finally got my nose on Le Lion-wow-seems (although I hear from knowledge noses that it's not quite) like the masculine Shalimar, which I have (the EDT), which reminds me of the current formulation of Lapidus Pour Homme (EDT), which I would not compare to Le Lion (but would like to discover the parallels if any). This is one thing that that grabs me; the seeing of the relationships (and understanding the meaning of the history in seeing the influences). And rose-now I want to get a seminal masculine rose scent. It seems to never stop. Real ambergris!

So much of this is relatable and when she talked about wanting to hide behind her brand, my jaw dropped because that's been my experience and was part of my inspiration for my brand name. Really can't say enough good things about her putting indie perfumery on the map and doing it well - and thank you for doing such a good interview.
Thanks CL and it is good to see you comment on the channel... you sir have an open invitation to come on our humble little channel anytime my friend 😊
Although to be fair I dont know your work yet outside of film noir which I absolutely love 😍

She promised to do another interview with me soon after her new fragrance Epona comes out on August 1st 😍
Gorgeous woman.
In many aspects... what a creative streak she has😊
Thanks for watching & commenting 🍻

I prepared a nice decant of L' artisan's Skin on Skin for you (the vintage)
I think you'll like it.
Love this interview soooo much! I haven’t smelled Papillon but am definitely drawn to it. I’m so curious alsoRamsey about how you got into fragrance yourself? You’ve got so much knowledge and passion! How did it all start? Maybe you’ve already talked about it…
Been in the fragrance game 12 years or so... but probably very heavy the last 6
Thank you for the kind words... and definitely check out Papillon, one of the best niche frag houses in the game 💪🐏
Just wanted to pop in and say, you're a really good interviewer. Cheers

Congrats! Absolutely... all of Liz's work is full bottle worthy me thinks
Liz Moores is beautiful !
Indeed! 😍
After the second part of the interview with Liz, you can do one with Manuel Cross, if it's possible.
Just my suggestion...
Thats an interesting idea! Two rebel perfumers 😊

I will ask Betrand Duchaufour to do an interview with you.

Liz and the rest of us wish Ambergris was spelled Ambergree for Ramsey’s sake lol.
There was an Ambergris hunter who went on Galens channel a few years back and said you are supposed to pronounce the S at the end...but you can say amber-gree if you wish
I was distracted the whole time, what did she say?
😂😂😂
I cant remember 😅
You are cattivo, signore Joseph !

You know a perfumer is talented when she's never smelled Diaghilev, but still creates Salome (just from scratch).
Spot on... its like Vintage Bal a Versailles pure perfume mixed with Diaghilev 🙃
@@RamseytheRam
Talking about Bal a Versailles.
There is a perfumerie "Nasreen" in Seattle, and they sell Bal a Versailles edt for 110 dollars (100 ml), and pure parfum version for 300 dollars (28 ml).
What's your opinion ?
Which one is better to buy ?
@@dusanninic5372 the pure parfum is the one I have ... its the one with the musky animalic dirty civet ... i got my 28ml pure parfum for 80 bucks... 300 is steep but not bad 😃
@@RamseytheRam
Thanks Ramsey.
If I find a better deal, I will certanly buy it.
But it's ok even 300 dollars if it's so unique!
Nobody in my favourite cafes wears it, here in my city.
@@dusanninic5372 the closest two fragrances to it for reference are musc Ravageur & Salome 😊
Never tried anything from the house..I will now I do love an older woman 😂
She is definitely the most beautiful perfumer in the game ... for now lol
