Dude, Cloak and Dagger was AWESOME. So intense for an 80s family flick!
I would have liked to get that Cloak and Dagger limited edition but I will just settle on the standard edition. VS still has over 700 of those in stock.
Six String Samurai is AWESOME!! Was so glad they gave it a proper release. Had it on DVD and now have the 4k. Movie is wild man, under-appreciated gem.
VS is the best at the art work & making these movies special which they deserve. Happy to see you got them all
I’m one of the 5’s of people that actually likes Six String Samurai, it’s a fun post apocalyptic rockabilly wasteland movie with a little Tarantino knockoff flair and I’d its preteen/family friendly which I was surprised by pleasantly because it would be an entertaining watch with preteen/younger teens.
Currently experiencing FOMO for the VSA line from Vinegar Syndrome. I was able to get every single release from 1-30 but I'm missing #3 the Vice Academy 1-3 set. Goes for some of the stupidest money online, to the tune of $250. Doesn't help that a lot of those dumb list articles online like "if you have these dvds/blu rays, you may be rich" cause people to inflate the price even more.
You're 100% correct about sidekicks. I probably wouldn't like it much if i watched it for the first time today, but i grew up with it and i absolutely adore it! Roadhouse and Sidekicks were VS releases that I literally yelled "YES" when I heard about them. I love both of these so much!
Haha! Hell yeah Christian. I guess great minds think alike, as I planned on doing a similar video as well. I just recently collected the entire VSU set. I had to... damn FOMO. 🤣 Vinegar Syndrome's VSU line is the best in the business. I wanted to watch them all before releasing my video. I'm literally watching Beastmaster right now. Just finished Showgirls, which had no right to look so good. One of the best 4k transfers from last year.

He really did make a lot of memorable films that fit the VS bill. I'd love to see a 4K release of "License to Drive!"
Six String Samurai is wild. It's not great, mind you. But it's fun and interesting.
I have fallen for certain sub labels and decided I want to collect everything and I did that with the VSA line. I picked i up p the first 15 titles or so then they started shifting to more 90’s action and I liked some of them but it was hard to keep up so I quit collecting them. I sold a couple titles for upwards of $150-200. They are definitely a good investment. Lol
That's kinda where i am in collecting physical media. I mostly just buy Horror/Thriller, Horror Comedies etc. the only non horror stuff i pick up is anything Batman related, TMNT, Harry Potter, and Spider-Man. I do own Beastmaster but i made sure i watched it before i bought it and i really enjoyed it. I may still grab the Conan releases from Arrow because i do occasionally dive into the sword and sorcery genre. I do really enjoy comedy films such as the Rush Hour trilogy, The Friday trilogy, The American Pie films, anything classic Adam Sandler, Porkeys, etc but i haven't currently purchased any of them since i started collecting physical media besides old dvds i have of them. Also is that the Nanny in the background?
When it comes to certain physical releases, I'm perfectly okay with still only owning the old DVD releases, especially something like comedies or newer films that are shot on digital cameras. Once I actually start watching the film (any film), I usually forget about all that stuff and just enjoy the show, even though I own a ton of Blu-rays/4Ks, now.

When they first announced the VSU line they basically said that the titles are outside of the normal titles that VS would release. More studio titles and I don’t think they will be releasing much horror through VSU
Great vid as always Christian, I have a few of the VSU line but not all, great company and the best packaging I just wish they would release some bigger titles, can you imagine how good the packaging would of been on a Killer Klowns release. Second Sight just announced 2 new limited editions, Gonjiam and The Sacrament, I ain't missing out on those.

Me too. Just a huge Linnea Quigley fan. Love all her movies. I always remembered her. Then i realized just how many of her movies i loved and forgot about. I never missed USA up all night. So she was a huge part of childhood i didnt remember and now i do. Miracle beach. Vice academy. Virgin high. Assault of the party nerds. Murder weapon. Graduation day. I watched those movies 100 times. Such great memories

Six String Samurai was a let down for me back in the 90s. It was so hyped, and had all the bonafides of what I thought would be cool (hip soundtrack, martial arts in a post-apoc setting). On paper it sounded amazing, but the kid did not work for me, along with the comedy. I thought they were just trying to ape Jackie Chan. It was DOA for the video store I worked at. Still, it's worth a revisit; back in the 80s, we used to hate watch Road House (pretentious teens!), but now I love it. We have watched the hell out of our VSU release. So Six String Samurai is worth a rewatch.

i only had FOMO once and it was for the True Romance 4k from Arrow. I thought they weren't going to reprint anymore and so I paid double lol
Hey Chh Walmart is starting to carry Vinegar Syndrome 4ks and blu-rays in stores with slipcovers!! They have Ticks with hard case, Evil laugh and Boarding house all with slips!

I had a similar story with Showgirls except it was with Roadhouse. Went to my record store and they had a copy of Roadhouse. Owner told me someone sold it and Miami Connection. Owner was surprised to see someone letting go of Roadhouse. He was selling it for $60 CAD and I had to take it
Holy 💩 I suddenly feel very old if you didnt remember Cloak and Dagger but your dad did because I saw it at theater when I was like 5 or 6 and my brother was like 10 and we went together 😂

It's what these companies feed on force you to buy because limited Slipcover box case that you can only get from us and nowhere else collector tat you can only get from us nowhere else and because the shit is limited you are forced to buy it or the scalpers do and sell it for 3 or 4 times the price

That roadhouse release is absolutely beautiful, shame I’ll probably never own it. FOMO sucks, I’m trying not to let it bother me. I’m tempted to buy the scream factory chucky movies but if they arrive without the slip I’d be gutted, so not sure to bother or not. I’ve got the arrow blu ray boxset anyways but, I’d really love the first three chucky movies from scream factory. Does anyone know if they still come with the slips???

@@cjm753bc8 only the original pressings. I believe VS pulled the rest and halted shipments at the time.
