  • Have you ever been to a restaurant that grows its own food? This little restaurant in Hamilton, Missouri, that grows its own vegetables 50 feet from the kitchen amazed me. Today I do a quick introductory video from Duste Dee's Mittleider garden where she grows a lot of the produce she uses to prepare delicious healthy meals to her customers. She has 4 Mittleider soil beds that are 20 feet long on the property about 50 feet from where she prepares the meals for her customers. It is going to be difficult to get fresher food than from a restaurant that grows its own food on the property.
In her garden this year you will find zucchini, she uses that to make her own fresh zoodles, yellow squash, green beans, kale, chard, beets, cabbage cilantro and basil. Her garden went in late so her crop selection was limited to plants that would produce quickly.
She is very passionate about healthy food, her family and coffee. I am sure she would love to hear from you and your words of encouragement in her new business venture. Here are some links to her social media presence.

Thats's super cool Bubba. Bocallis here in Ojai does the same. They have such a huge garden where they grow they're own.

      Hello!
Thank you for your interest! I can go on and on and on about my garden, I'll do my VERY best to keep it short and sweet!
I use the zucchini as either a boat (sliced in half and scoop the seeds out) or as a noodle replacement. Buffalo chicken boats are extremely popular.
A simple alfredo sauce is delicious with zoodles!
Also, I have beautiful basil that I make pesto with. Cilantro gets put into so many meals.
ALL of the greens either go into smoothies, wilted into hash or tossed into salads. I made a rainbow noodle salad and added some rainbow chard at the last minute to boost the nutrition and it was both beautiful and delicious
My yellow squash is insanely good just roasted in some olive oil with some salt and pepper. I pair it with a meat of some sort. Simple and yummy!
I have a bunch of the squashes put up in the freezer to be used this fall and winter for soups and stews.

I’m curious to see what kind of smoothies you make from what you’re growing in the garden.
