Quick facts regarding 2001-2002 cl600 naturally aspirated V12. 1, it shuts down one side at lower speeds to conserve gas. 2. It will cost 20k just to get oil cooler replaced abc tandem pump, abc new shocks, wiring harness from oil migration ,trickle charger to keep battery alive modules do not go into sleep mode, spend an additional-15-20k plus what you bought car for. Keep in mind this car base price 118,900 then add basics like keyless go, parktronics ,distronics , amg sport package with upgraded wheels and tires, designo upgrade and your near 140k plus tax and licensing. In 2002 .same dollar amount today = to $just shy of 240k today. This car actually cost Mercedes more to make then what they sold it for. So 30-40k to have this car running like a charm may actually be a great deal. But you have to be willing to pay to fix its problems. Then drive only on weekends and you’ll be just fine for another 75k in miles.
One last thing around 75k -85k miles all the problems listed will happen. So 1500 initial investment plus the misc. 2600 if you look carefully at the invoice So more like 4k. However 10k intercooler will fail add, abc tandem pump is due to fail 5k ,coil packs (2) 1500 each =3k. These issues fail within 15k miles, shocks will fail that’s 1k x4= 4k total cost 20K within next 10k driven the world will crash. That’s why it was sold for 4k. If you can commit to spending 20k this was not a good deal.
Rusted out? Lada were built to withstand Russian winters, they're practically mini tanks. My grandad owned 2. The last 1 he sold to a group of Russians that approached him in a sainsburys carpark (in the UK) amazed that 1 of their cars had made it all the way to england. This was in the 90s.
I got the CL55 AMG Kompressor (V8 Supercharged, 500hp), loving it. Definitely not a sportscar, but very luxurious and oh so powerful in straight line 😁
I went through this on a 2012 Toyota Sienna. Your ac compressor is purging cause the condenser/dryer is clogged. Put a new condenser/dryer in it. You can use a temp gun to check the condenser for cold spots, that will be where the clog is. Just replace it.
Remember boys:::: The $10k exhaust doesnt loose all its value when you buy it! In fact, if you import it to the states it should be fairly easy to sell after the fact ^^
I worked at a car auction as a vehicle inspector and its very likely that they did buy the car for $1500. Most dealers don't like German cars because they're too problematic and most people want Toyotas or Hondas. Especially the fact that the car had mechanical issues most dealers wouldn't even think about buying this car
Do you have to go to your state inspection to get the title be classified as rebuilt? I've seen nice cars in Illinois, but you have to pay a shop 200-300 to sign documents then have state police inspect it
@JR Garage The "RARE" manual 4 door car has to be a v10 e60 M5 with a manual transmission. VERY RARE and not especially valuable. Can't wait to see it!
Hi I am an guy form estonia and a huge fan of youre videos. I bought an cl500 coupel of months ago but it has somekind of electrical issues. Maybe you could tell me something about where do you get all the info for the car to solve problems. Is there somekind of websites or forums that l could look out?
Only because I recently saw someone else pick one up, I think you may have gotten a rare, late 90s ES300 with manual gearbox. Probably take it to a million miles. Good luck!
Because my comment is so timely and you guys always wait to hear what I have to say, I advise leaving the exhaust stock. It's beauty is its power and silence, so why mess that up?
Who can guess what car we bought?? Also, should we straight pipe the CL600🤔
JR Garage Straight pipe it 🔥
$10K complete exhaust!
Give us a hint lol or did you in your upload I'm still watching so maybe i should of waited lol before replying

You juste buy a old Lada ? 4 doors, manual, and low value ?
They are super rare because they rusted out after two years on the road 😂😂😂
Wtf are you talking about the car is one of the most reliable car ever. The only rusted out is your brain
@@tiadanama1998 my lawnmower is reliable too, same motor as lada 🤣
No Ladas in America
Maybe in Canada
Also they're very rare

When are you guys going to give the car to your mom
I came here to vote "leave the exhaust as is and give it to Mom!" Mothers Day is right around the corner, boys!
We actually just gave it to her! She loves it!
Keep it classy, keep the original exhaust! 😀
May I ask how much it was to repaint your $850 Mercedes s600? I’m a high school student and I live in AZ, I’m trying to get my car repainted
Tony Vo same
A paint job on the cheaper side would be $1000 no matter where you go, Garret would be more, but check with him.
2:09 HEADPHONE USERS RIP
Yup, I forgot to give the warning lol
It hurted so bad in my ears. So i cant read

Keep it stock. It’s classy
I like that these guys just bought a fun, nice car with no plans to ruin it. They get my subscription.
Would like to know where you sourced O2 sensors for $12. Thanks !!
I really enjoyed working with Advanced Autos! Ed and his team are the best in the biz!
30k?
Eazy...
Leave exhaust STOCK to keep it a sleeper... OR go to a junkyard find a wrecked CL65 and get the AMG exhaust.

Can you buy some MAE‘s for the cl600 ?
No straight pipes on this one. Hmmm, I'm thinking the new car is a CTS.
Make it scream Make it scream Make it scream Make it sream. That thing will sound so good if its straight piped
Been waiting on this 🔥🔥

The CL600 deserves the F1 exhaust
Kenny407 nah i don't think so tho cuz it's a quite luxury car. it seems better stock
Do not change exhaust!
I think I prefer the stock exhaust.
How about an Eisenmann Performance Exhaust, and putting the savings into the next project

Charger hellcat! Bring it in the channel!
Hi! Which materials are you using to cleaning the engine bay?
Scrubbing bubbles
Great video 👍
Sitting in the F430 and Viper and getting to watch them fly by was one of the best car show nights at the pavillions i’ve had in a long time
what do you use to clean your engine bay...?
Leave this Luxury for once
I bought a 2010 E350 4matic. For a grand.. not quite the deal you guys got, but killer deals are out there.
Full system for lifeeee
leave it stock the people that love these cars and understand what they are understand its supposed to be understated quiet power.
Only because I recently saw someone else pick one up, I think you may have gotten a rare, late 90s ES300 with manual gearbox. Probably take it to a million miles. Good luck!
Why don't you get a proper analyser, like an Autel MaxiSys MS906BT, so you can see exactly which sensor is defective?
The post-cat sensors are just monitors for the pre-cat sensors and rarely fail. I'll bet the CEL returns and you have to replace the pre-cat sensors.
Were you guys at costco on march 10th in Gilbert AZ
I really love the interior interior of this car
Guys, what are you using for cleaning the engine bay?
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave the exhaust alone!!! Please it's a luxury car. Enjoy it
No straight pipes. Get a CL65amg exhaust. Also the new car is a E32-7 series BMW!
Turbo and straith pipes? That would be unique
Because my comment is so timely and you guys always wait to hear what I have to say, I advise leaving the exhaust stock. It's beauty is its power and silence, so why mess that up?
Keep it stock !!! Make it the finest example in existence.
Light rumble for the exhaust. Any more is silly.
hmmmm that may be fair
JR Garage If you went carbon fiber interior trim
& performance mods, loud exhaust would suit it better. IMO. But as is, keepin’ it classy is cool.
is your ferrari louder than stradman ferrari
Keep the exhaust stock. Keep that quiet luxurious drive.
Definitely a good looking car but I'm biased. I've got the little brother. The CL500 IN black
same i got silver
Same silver kia sedona
What products do you guys use to clean the engine, and make it look so nice?
Yeayy new video. What a nice Mercedes.
