35 year retired critical care RN here. Stretching the spine out & walking consistently can keep sciatica @ bay! Your disc may still be weakened but not pressing on nerve which is what causes the pain. An inversion table 15 min several x/week also keeps the spine in proper alignment. Teeter is the best brand...Also helps to keep core muscles toned.

MRI is really only useful for sciatica if contemplating surgery. Sciatica (usually due to pressure on lumbar nerve roots rather than anything to do with the sciatic nerve) usually resolves spontaneously. If it does not resolve spontaneously within six weeks, it is less likely to do so, hence surgery can be helpful, although there are undoubtedly cases like yours which do sort themselves out.
Exercise is more effective than anything for back pain and non-surgical management of sciatica. Fantastic that you found a regime that helped for you and that you have shared it that others might also benefit. :)
Next time my sciatica plays up, I shall watch your vid!

From discovering your sciatica video, my first stretch 'session' of five minutes - just a week ago - my back pain has halved. I don't suffer sciatica but believe have fused lower vertebrae. Massive thanks.

I had exactly the same issue, I have never known pain like it. My doctor referred me to a surgeon who was doing some new trials with keyhole surgery, this being 1993. The operation was done with just sedation as I had to give feedback when they touched the sciatic nerve. The operation took about an hour. Because of the damage done to the sciatic nerve it took a few months for the pain to completely subside. Once this had gone I have not had any back pain, and certainly not had sciatica since, the only issue was numbness on my left calf which has never come back.

I know there`s different levels of sciatica, but mine has more or less gone due to me doing stiff legged deadlifts with moderate weights!

The "disc material" does definitely reabsorb - every doctor says so.
