  • It’s the strength of family that has seen Cook Islands dance group Aitutaki Enua through the highs and lows of their preparation for Te Maeva Nui NZ 2021.
This week broadcaster Johnson Raela takes a deeper look at some of the anau behind the group and the cultural connections that enrich them.
#ArauraEnua is a new web series that goes behind the scenes of the highly secretive lead-up to Te Maeva Nui NZ 2021 - the biggest Cook Islands cultural festival in New Zealand.

I'm so happy to see a series on Pacific Island culture. The journey to a competition, through the Cook Island lens. It's beautiful to see the different elements: language, generations, singing, dancing, family, leadership, unity. You are really paving a way for our other cultures do step up and do the same, because we're all losing our culture quicker than we realise. Thank you for doing this series, thank you for the stories, and sharing. Your culture is rich and deep and beautiful to witness on all levels. God Bless.
