@@codyryan9789 I think it would have to be Sonic 3C. Sonic 3C continued production even as Sonic 3A neared completion. Since Knuckles has more data in final Sonic 3 than he did in the prototype, it seems likely that some of that Sonic 3C work ended up in Sonic 3A due to them sharing the same code base.
Combat King 0 there’s no shadow! But you can make him in the mod of sonic 3 and knuckles! I mean why aren’t amy and shadow on sonic mania plus?? Only mighty and ray... couldn’t have been 7 characters on sonic mania plus!

Because mighty and ray doesn't get the attention they get back then when mania plus didn't exist, SEGA just gave them the shine they deserved.
I would say so, the reason you don't play as Knuckles is because most of his sprites got deleted, and the sprites that didn't were for his boss fight and other removed cut-scenes.
According to these hard-to-find screenshots, Knuckles was a red sonic until his sprites were finished. Both of these screenshots date from before the release of Sonic 3. Tails also looks like he is using sonic 3 sprites. It gives you normal Tails w/o all Emeralds and Super Sonic with all Emeralds. So maybe it's the same for Knuckles. I'm sure if there's sprites for all the other menu stuff for Knuckles he probably has a file select pic somewhere for at least the normal ending. I'm trying to beat the game in S3A with the Knuckles and harder bosses codes selected. It's pretty fun.

Wow these are quite impressive considering thier leftovers for knuckles in sonic 3 but regardless it's funny how most of these look absolutely absurd and they could also end up breaking the code of the game itself annyways though impressive video nonetheless also love how on the signpost knuckles is blue for whatever reason
Yup, that's probably the one good thing we got from the game being split in two. All the other changes weren't for the better. Flying Battery makes more sense before Ice Cap Zone, all of the Sonic 3 tracks are better than the Sonic and Knuckles tracks, etc. But Big Arm is such a cool boss, and I'm glad he exists.

It's hard to say. They don't exist in the game, but being that Knuckles was removed, the Eggrobo sprites could've easily been taken out as well.

The game probably makes you fly in Special Stage beacuse it tried to load Knuckles Sprites that were in the sprite sheets.
Like the eggrobo in the game Sonic3& knuckles but not big arm the launch base act2.

The Knuckles boss is not normally placed in the object layout. It must be spawned via hacking.

Oh yeah, that's a problem. You have to disable the FFFE10:0200 code for that part. You can renable it afterwards.
