very well presented. I've always agreed that leaders lead and motivate. No one is a born leader but one has to have some sort of talent to work with and be willing to grow from there. I also love how you describe what leadership isn't. So many times within a place of employment it is thought that there is a need to go with the employer who has been there the longest or knows their job or unit well. Yet, that is not always the case because of the "leadership lid" you mentioned. I love that! Growth can not become stagnant.
I was going through so many videos trying to find someone that could explain leadership without it being so generic. I never comment but this video needs more praise because you did an amazing job. Thank you for opening my mind
Thanks Vivian! Check out my podcast Dose of Leadership at doseofleadership.com for more of my content.
Thank you so much for sharing such insights into leadership.
Thanks so much . My name is Sylvia Oparebea Addo. I have acquired a lot. Leadership is unending. I side with Warren Bennis and John Maxwell. I'm ultimately grateful.
Thanks for sharing! Check out my podcast at doseofleadership.com
So much content to learn... I'm grateful. But essentially what I've drawn from here is that Leadership is being own self and expressing that fact.
Great insight... Leadership is not about position.
Thank you very much for being so calm and confident on enlightening me on the true attributes of a true leader.
My teacher assigned this video as part of the lesson and I'm glad she did. This was very good. I feel like I'm ready to go to the next level and not just manage but lead and I'm not surrounded by good leaders. I don't know where to go. I can manage the heck out of a process though! But as you stated, this is a lifelong process.
Thank you very much Sir for this wonderful video...i am from Pakistan..,first time i understand the meaning of leadership...after watching your video...i have changed myself...

The whole video is just so great that I won't be able to express with words.
Thanks a lot
Just loved it 😇
My college class made me watch this
Hi Richard, this was as Tony the Tiger would say "GRRRRREEEEAAAATTT!" Thank you so very much for this lesson I will never forget it. You are my new leader and mentor. Annie

This is a really very informative video. I never come across such a different video that explains the leadership concept in simple words. Thank You.
I am blessed by this video. I felt as though you are preaching into my life. God bless you.
Nice great insights about leadership
Thanks :) Superb!
thanks Richard
Thank you very much for the video! I am from Malaysia, and your video really made my day. Thank you!
Very inspiring and well educative
thanks for this video
This is a good video and very informative on taking off the leadership lid on your own potential. This is process of maturity character development and growth. I like the 3 C's. Calm, Courageous, Confident and Consistent must have a high leadership lid or no lid at all. Enjoyed this information. I am willing to grow being around greater leaders.
I love the content. Well explained and provides a path for expanding our capacity and raising our lids. Please change foucsing to say focusing....:)
Great lesson.
Good explanation
Great overview. I have listened to your leadership podcasts (not dose of leadership) and see this content is coming from there. But for others this is good content. I also liked the graphics and the examples.
On the cons, somehow I don't like the hand coming and writing the stuff. It looked really good in the begging, but after 5 mins of so, the hand is coming in the way while reading the content. I also observed my eyes were straining. I feel that the hand is good for drawing and emphasizing key points.
I love it I learned a lot from it
Great and comprehensive information about LEADERSHIP, I am elated to learn more
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Richard- Enjoyed the video. It reinforces many of the things I learned as a member of your mastermind group. Listening and watching this video is part of intentionality. I have so much learn! Thanks for sharing.
No follow the crowd ,crowd follow you like a leader
Hey Richard. Well done video. Good voice. Good beginning and ending. I have subscribed to the Maxwell programs for years and frankly burned out on the books and tapes. As much as I love John it has become repackaged. 21 irrefutable laws. 7 steps to... 18 authentic leadership style. 19 of this 5 of that. How is this any different?
Thanks a lot...usefull info
Glad it was helpful!
Leader into ship on the brave wave: courageous and tecnician
This is amazing! Though, wouldn't you say that to learn about proper people management tool, you could unleash more of your potential to be a leader?
Leader leader leader leader is not a boss
In your own definition, define LEADERSHIP in EXACTLY FIVE WORDS
Wow AMAZING
AWESOMELY CORRECT...
Many many thanks
Hey Rod, thanks for the comments. I'm with you that Maxwell seems to repackage a lot of his stuff. I've always loved his style and message though. This first lesson is heavy on Maxwell material because I believe so much in the fundamentals and the foundation it lays. The idea that leadership and success are intertwined and that leadership is for everybody is critical for any leader to understand. And understanding that it is a lifelong process is key too.

nice day today
Good stuff... you've got some spelling errors though: foucsing @ 12:06 and Happend @ 8:11
Yeah...need to change that. Frustrating that the program didn't have spell check...it's funny how you can stare at something, and watch something a hundred times and not catch it when you create it. Thanks for the feedback!
I get it. When you look at words for so long and so consistently, they get muttled.
Thanks for the video. I may use it to share with some colleagues
Ryan, this is the first video of 20 that I have for a course I call Legacy Leader Blueprint...you can find out more info at
www.legacyleaderblueprint.com
It (Legacy Leader Blueprint) is real popular with organizations who want to introduce up and coming supervisors/managers to leadership. $349 per seat for all 20 videos and four live coaching/facilitation sessions with me.
it was ok
My teacher is making a test out of this...

You spelt focussing incorrectly.
The language you use is exactly like a Forbes magazine articles I read in 2013. www.forbes.com/sites/kevinkruse/2013/04/09/what-is-leadership/
