In this exciting and unique new series, Ustadh Nouman becomes the student and is joined by master Quran reciter, Qari Ibrahim Bakeer, who'll be teaching him the 8 different maqamat (melodic modes) of recitation.
Qari Ibrahim will sharing the unique characteristics and beautiful sounds of each maqam, and training Ustadh Nouman on how to find his own perfect pitch based on his recitation voice, and which maqam suits him best.

Almost a month ago I saved a real of girl reciting Quran and making breakfast, I loved it and made an intention to memorise and practise recitation this Ramazan. Came across another video of Ustad Noman to start learning meaning of Quran and now this. Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah a trillion times, Alhumdulillah. In this series, I think we will connect to the Qur'an in the fundamental level, like Allah says to us
﴿وَإِذَا قُرِئَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ فَٱسۡتَمِعُوا۟ لَهُۥ وَأَنصِتُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ﴾ [الأعراف ٢٠٤]
So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.
May we all receive mercy from our رب on us and may Allah accept from you the project
Masha Allah ....Circle method, you receive (hear) it , you feel(understand) it, you feel the emotional connect or situation or the mood of the ayah, then you read it with perseverance...This is the best ever explanation of living quran as experience ....I am sold with this knowledge and intellect...May Allah grant us all the hidayath and Barakah to make Quran our good companion for eternal life.

Maschallah. I always recite the Qur'an almost just by reading normally because I thought, it is difficult, it requires a beautiful voice and it is rather easier for men to recite it with a melody. In classical Arabic language for example as in surah teen ,Teen here means place where abundant number of figs grow as told in tafseer by our ustadz. Similarly a person talks about quran,recite it, explain it,thinks and reflects on it can be called as "Quran".......I think I can call ustadz so..how many of u agree?..

Scholars have said its makrooh to use such Maqamat.
1. A reciter who beautifies his voice according to his natural
inherent ability and follows the Tajweed Rules (Sunnah).
• 2. A reciter who uses musical maqaamaat but he follows the
tajweed rules if there is a conflict (Disliked - makrooh).
• 3. A reciter who uses musical maqaamaat without raising the voice
and going to excesses with the tune and he gives preference to the
tune over the rules of tajweed (prohibited - haram).
• 4. A reciter who uses musical maqaamaat and raises his voice,
going to excesses with the tune and he gives preference to the tune
over the rules of tajweed (prohibited - haram).
Except that there is no such thing as «natural inherent ability», so you can not do the number one. Unless you have heard some recitation and it made you feel something, and then when you recite you want to bring this feeling and then you do it in the way you know. That is maqam. The other thing is where do you bring the word «musical» from? There are very clear limits to what is considered musical in the sunnah, and the maqamat do not cross these limits.
