Enjoy your Summer! Jasper is my vote and I would love to see your diys and your trips with your kids this summer, too! We are doing a whole lot of nothing. Just soaking up summer as a family. I love getting to stay home with my two little girls!
You should look into Indigo blue as a paint color for that wall... I know you arent looking into blues very much but it is such a beautiful color and I think it would look great!
The man who loved clowns is an amazing book! I read it in fifth grade and have read it multiple times after! It’s such an amazing book and there is a sequel now too! It really shows love compassion and understanding and the value of friendships!
Midnight Without A Moon by Linda Williams Jackson is a beautiful book. Historical fiction, set in Missippi in 1955. There's also a sequel called A Sky Full of Stars, which I'm reading this summer!
I am currently working as a 2nd grade Para teaching Character Education! 😀 My summer is filled with 4 PDs, setting up my 1st classroom as I was hired to teach 3rd grade at the same elementary school I attended as a child, and learning the standards for ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I am very excited to start my first year of teaching! 😀
I would love love love if you vlogged all summer and especially the house! I was drawn to the Jasper as well but I do think the Sea Serpent would tie in more with your whole house. Hard to tell on camera. I cannot wait for you to show us what you chose! For summer this year, I planned each week out as a "theme" (ha! can't get the teacher out of me in summer!) so 1st week was vacation, 2nd week was spent entirely with my grandson, 3rd week is book week (reading and donating old books no longer wanted), 4th week is photo week - I'm finally organizing 39 years of photos while hubby does the electronic versions. The 5th week is organizing, purging, cleaning (especially garage) and then one week for anything I didn't get done or maybe some movies, etc. We only have 6 weeks as we are on a year round calendar.
Love your character unit booklet! Is it in your TpT store? If not will it be? I know you have a busy summer so completely if it's not. Enjoy yourself!!!!
Loving the books for study units. Will any be in TpT store? Hope so, to at least look at them and get idea on what I can add! Love your ideas and energy!!
I am working this summer but will be vacationing at the end. We will either go to Mexico, Dominican Republic, or Cuba. Curriculum rewriting as well! Ocean City and Atlantic City along with pretending to be tourists in our native NYC!
Loving your summer plans! Enjoy all the fun stuff and family time, we are so lucky to get this time off. (I wanna come to ikea toooooooo =) ) I am excited to be traveling to Greece for my brother's destination wedding! First vacation in years...Can't wait! =)
I am painting my kitchen island Jasper . It's such a beautiful green! By the way, I love the sweater you were wearing at the beginning of your vlog. Where did you get it?
Love all your vlogs. I hope you have a great summer eve though you will be busy. I am a student and I feel like summer goes by fast. I would love to see your house change. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
"BOB" by Wendy Mass & Rebecca Stead. About a little girl who hasn't visited her grandmother in Australia for a very long time. When she finally goes to visit her she forgot about BOB who was stashed away in the closet for several years. She forgot she made a promise to BOB to help him remember who and what he is. It is a very cute book. I think your students and sons, would enjoy it.
Historical Fiction book I read and loved when prepping a 4th grade Social Studies curriculum: "Chains" (The Seeds of America Trilogy), by Laurie Halse Anderson (who also authored the book you mentioned "Fever").
"Fish in a Tree" by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. My son LOVES this book. He was diagnosed with dygraphia. This book deals with a child diagnosed with dyslexia (same family). About the book: Ally has been smart enough to fool a lot of smart people. Every time she lands in a new school, she is able to hide her inability to read by creating clever yet disruptive distractions. She is afraid to ask for help; after all, how can you cure dumb? Her new teacher sees the bright, creative kid underneath the trouble maker. With his help, Ally learns not to be so hard on herself and that dyslexia is nothing to be ashamed of. As her confidence grows, Ally feels free to be herself and the world starts opening up with possibilities. She discovers that there’s a lot more to her-and to everyone-than a label, and that great minds don’t always think alike.
My heart jumps to the Ripe Olive. 🙂 Will you post pretty scenic pics of your trip? I live in a concrete jungle and love seeing nature pics. Sometimes, when I am unable to really get out and enjoy some nature, I put on nature scene videos and have them play as I do stuff around my house. Is that weird? Lol My mom lives out there in PA and will send me pretty pics all the time cause she knows I just thrive on them. 😊 My plans for the summer is to balance rest, time with those I love and miss as well as reflect, adjust and prep my curriculum for next year. I have an annual pass to Disneyland, so I will be there often as well. I am not ashamed to say that i will go by myself sometimes and I thoroughly enjoy it. Lol Have a blessed summer!!!!!
Hi Bridget, l say sea serpent, I like that color. I'm sure you'll get a great color, one you'll love. I am looking forward to vaca, I hope to see your vloge. Warm Thoughts, Raquel🤗🐱🌹🌞

Paint a large piece of poster board with a sample of your favorite color (or three) tack it to the wall for a day or two before you decide.
You should look into Indigo blue as a paint color for that wall... I know you arent looking into blues very much but it is such a beautiful color and I think it would look great!

You could get a stump grinder. Your house would look great with a wide deck all across the back.

also dark night and jasper are my two favorites
i am a beach girl and i love spending my summers at the beach and reading a good book.
Anchors aweight for sure, that nice dark blue tint.
About the ugly tree stump - you could put a metal ring and some landscaping bricks around it and really use it as a firs pit. 👍🏻
I like the jasper or ripe olive the best

Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Curtis is an excellent book to read for character development.
