Did you know Kaveh plays the dutar(instrument)? There is two of those instruments in Alhaitham's house, you can see them during his quest. Since Alhaitham doesn't play an instrument, it must be Kaveh's.
And he has a line about him already being able to play an instrument, but it's not speciefied which one.

What I was gonna say is that
Maybe the reason why Kaveh’s hair is long is not just bc it looks so beautiful on him but because ‘Hair holds memories’ usually people don’t cut their hair to mourn of a person’s death. He might also have put his hair like his mother to keep memories of her since he doesn’t see her anymore as she is in fountain (never gonna learn how to spell that right lol) so what I’m saying is that he probably never cut his hair ever again since the death of his father or when his mother left.
