I'm happy they did this type episode. I wish I be on this show. I'm looking for loss family I can't find on all side of my family. I would love to sign up for next episode.
I fortunately was able to watch this full episode and I was so touched by this Lady and the story of her Great Grandfather. For those of you that won’t be able to see the full episode. Walters mother was a white lady name Elenora and she had some type of a relationship with Walter’s Father, a married younger neighbour who happened to be on the record books listed as Mulatto. Mixed race or black is a better terminology than the offensive Mulatto. When Walter was 5 she made the heart breaking decision to leave Walter with another family to be raised because in those years it was illegal to have a relationship with a person of colour. Terrie response to the whole story is absolutely beautiful. Her understanding and kindness is a beautiful. Such a lovely lady. My heart just went out to her and Walter and their entire family.
Henry Louis Gates Jr. is there a way you can help me and my family. I did find out how one of my great-grandfathers, William Mcintosh, was from Scotland, married a creek woman in Georgia. He was also the chief and ended up being killed because he did a deal with the US government and that was a big no-no. I just want to know how I can find out all of the connections that connects us with other ethnic groups. Keep up the great work!
Who else was wondering if Lenora lived over 100 like her son Walter? Walter longevity could have came from his father side or maybe it was just him. Weird to think someone born in 1880 was still living when I was born. I don't even know anyone born before the 1900's. When he talked about being a kid in the 90's it would have been the 1890's. Living to 105 is rare. Sad that having a different skin color can cause families to turn their backs on their kids.
Have not seen the show because I live in Europe but I saw the last name Morrow and I am curious. We are the North Carolina Morrows maybe we are related?
This is my aunt, super proud
Great that they're starting to feature non-celebrities. The stories are no less compelling.
Absolutely
Good on her to honor her ancestors, no matter what, because, as she says, she wouldn't be here without them.
This lady is very very intelligent.❤
I thought she was so kind and forgiving. Articulate, emotionally mature, and warm.
Of course you did. 😂

Hello there! I’m a Morrow with ancestry from Paisley Scotland.
I dont know the name of my great-great grandmother, she was proably born in israel (then ottoman palestina) and died at a very young age around 1900
What does that have to do with the video?
@@aquaabundance4077The commenter is thinking about her/his own ancestors because of the video. Seems obvious to me.
Maybe you can talk to some older members of your family to get more information ❤️
@@lauren578 they dont know
A weird case of Stockholm Syndrome. Her great grandfather deserves more empathy.
