Dr. Malcolm Kendrick suggests that Lp(a) is the more likely lipoprotein found inside plaques (his book "The Clot Thickens" gives his reasons). He sites research that looked for Apo(a) in plaques and it was found there. He concedes that the result from one study is not enough, but if you can show a logical reason for this, it should certainly merit further study along this proposal. It might stop us fixating on LDL-C and the ways to reduce it.

It’s indisputable that apoB causes cardiovascular disease. This wasn’t just established through one small mechanistic study. There’s mountains of evidence to support this, and we know each LDL particle has one apoB particle so they track pretty closely. Separate meta analysis of over 200 prospective cohort studies, Mendelian randomisation studies and randomised trials including more than 2 million participants with over 20 million person years of follow up and over 150,000 cardiovascular events demonstrate a remarkably consistent dose-dependent log-linear association between the absolute magnitude of the exposure of the vasculature to LDL-C and the risk of ASCVD; and this effect appears to increase with increasing duration of exposure to LDL-C.

@@quity919 thankyou. I hear the part that not everything is known about ldl, and that part of what the have discovered is a healing mechanism for "injuries" inside arteries by ldl. But the LDLa and LDL pob (or whatever variation) is never clear. If you find something in your seeking, please tag me, eh?

Is Lp a more dangerous than Apo B? My apo a was 187 Nmol/L and my Apo B was 81.

My LP A was always at 67 nmol/L and after 3 weeks on Livalo I did particle test and my LP A went up to a 113 nmol/L! How can it have gone up so high in such a short time on a statin?

Hello sir! I'm male 32 yrs old. I have a high total cholesterol at 243, HDL around 57, LdL very high at >175 and triglycerides at 66. Am i at risk for CVD? My EKGs and echocardiogram teats ave been clear, but I'm still thinking on why should i have that high cholesterol levels even though I'm at my normal kilos and generally eating well.

@@krs1690 Sorry, but he didn´t mention he is in a keto diet, and even if he was, this model of ´´Keto diet -> High LDL = OK´´, it is not confirmed. Now, of course no one can give you directions on UA-cam comments by only reading a couple numbers, without knowing more about you. However, just by reading these numbers (and I don´t want to make anyone concerned for no reason), I think yes, you should dig deeper into this , together with qualified professionals. The numbers aren´t terrible, but are not great either, specially if your goal is to live long and well, avoiding/delaying CVD. Your TG looks good , though. There´s probably a lot more you can do as it pertains to lifestyle , and if that doesn´t bring your numbers to a safer zone, then , MAY BE, consider farmacological treatment, even though you are still young. Now, as far as I´m concerned, EKG and this type of exams won´t directly correlate with your Lipid panel/CVD risk, as when talking about blood lipids we are trying to forsee your future outcome, not necessairly seeing any results of it right now.

@@nichtsistkostenlos6565 oh you mean the doctors that only spent 4days on nutrition in 7yrs of medical school, are brainwashed into only recommending drugs instead of healing root causes, and spend 6.5 minutes with each patient at an apointment? Ohhhh right.
