I started in july on a 2" then built a 5"at the end of august. I also bought a tiny whoop for inside flying. Im running 10-50 packs a week between all my quads. Ive been progressing pretty well. Id also say slow down for anyone doing mostly freedtyle. Speed in freestyle was making me not notice cool little spots i could add into my routes that add challenge plus if you slow down it makes you look at what you have around you different. Dont get me wrong im still ass but im getting better.
That's the nicest thing I've heard since my Bar Mitzvah, Joshua. Yes, racing is what forces us to stop fantasising and really makes us better. After that, we can continue to fantasise about our greatness in a bando, on a battlefield, or wherever else we want to waste our talent.
this is great advice!! started freestyle then got into racing and tbh it made me so much better. the issue is when you freestyle and don’t have a spot you “want” to go through, or you free ball it a lot of drone flying is predicting turns which racing teaches. when you just willy nilly freestyle and don’t have that ability to predict turns your gonna crash a lot
There are, of course, many incredibly skilled pilots, but Alex Vanover, for example, is one of those pilots who can race and freestyle at a high level.
Could you please go to New Jersey and take up close pictures of these drones? I feel you guys are the best we have to figure out what us up there. I know you got some fast drones.... please????????
Fly, fly and fly!! And be your own worst critic 😂 I've been flying for about a month and a half, And what he said about racing sounds spot on. I just started looking for multi GP events in my area. If you only wanna do freestyle. I think you should always be out of your comfort zone while flying.

Agreed....and "if you're not crashing , you're not trying" 😄
Yep, most "freestyle" style pilots tried racing(at least on Simulators) and failed thus now they are Freestyle pilots...
