The state of Florida is an insurance/stock-trading entity gambling against Mother Nature for a state with watery borders below sea level. Who are the insurance board members collecting profits from the monies insurers pay for their home and flood insurance? PS: Draining to where?
A couples of things to mention 1. Never bundle your coverage --- Because if you bundle say your Auto and home insurance and you are dropped now you will need to find new coverage on both, but if you have separate policies and one is dropped it will make it easier to get coverage on the one. 2. remember insurance will never go down ever and if you think it will well your just stupid. And one added note NASA & NOAA has predicted that by 2043 everything from the Tampa / Clearwater line south will be permanently under water due to rapid sea level rise. Now the people and agencies that are predicting this are the smartest people in the room
By 2043, carbon will be at 507ppm, and that will produce approx. 2.35 deg. C. of warming over baseline. Average sea level rise should be about 2 feet higher than present day. Much of Florida's current coastline will be underwater at 3 ft.

Here is the problem , There has always been low lying areas that flood once heavy rains come in the raining season. Counties don't clean the drainage system before the raining season comes.
#1-More concrete = less spots for runoff water to go. #2- downtown Miami is about 3' above sea level. #3- oceans are rising a tiny lil bit every year. #4- warmer waters = stronger storms/more rain.
Not true as it could take a few decades as it’s a warning for future generations. Besides, Miami is not only city in danger so who cares as I still got plenty time to move there before it may truly gets worse.

The answer to the title question has been answered over and over. Asking again won’t change it. Climate change effects are, by and large, picking up speed..
Expect 18 inches rise in 30 years then 18 inches again the next ten, then 5. It isn't just about global sea level. You also have to contend with rise from thermal expansion and stronger currents. All three combined will leave your grandchildren's kids an island archipelago. The cold pump around Greenland collapses and the gulf will rise two feet just from the current pressure of having nowhere to go. The hot water gets fed in and doesn't leave.
I wish we could go back in time and stop people from building directly on the beach. This wouldn’t be a problem if we allowed the coast to do its job - gigantic dunes and vegetation should be between the ocean and any structures. Instead we selfishly built directly on the ocean and destroyed the dunes in the process. Those dunes and the mangroves protect property but we keep senselessly destroying them. If the coast was left alone, it could handle the impact of these rising levels and all of our property would be protected.
