The DIY guys owe you one for this Vlog. I knew my wife’s Countryman, a 2015, had been serviced by an independent for an oil change and brake flush last year but evidently they didn’t replace the air filter (which looked pretty good). I had dated the air filter when I replaced it myself, in 2022 so I’m glad I referenced this site which handily told me I might need a T27 to get the two other screws out and did the change myself. Money in the bank!
So About a year ago i did my own filter as well but i did an open air filter from K&N model number is RU-1540. The mount point fit right on the end of the MAF sensor. You can remove the filter box or leave it and keep the top off, this lets you hear all the wooshy sounds of the turbo and its as easy as installing the top bix and old filter to make it stock. Edit: This was on my '15 R60s all4
@@TheMINIVlog your GP3 is sick and I'm pretty jealous. My R60S is my second Mini I have owned, I also have an '02 R50. In the future I'd like to complete my Mini fleet with a classic and a GP of some sort. Happy motoring brother.
Thank you for doing this video; it was very, very helpful! I go to the dealer for everything for my cooper, but the prices for some things....like this filter are really overpriced. This will help me do some things on my own. 😁
You should do a video on the different drop in performance foam filters. I use the ALTA Performance in my Clubman S because it is thinner and states it produces more air because of it.
Okay. Would you be willing to watch a youtube short if I made one of those instead for the simple maintenance tasks like this? or should I try to just make a shorter vid?
for viewers, all you need to do instead of removing the T27 Screws is just loosen the silver hose clamp a bit so you have some play.

Oh yeah those are fun! I did a similar setup on my f56 JCW. Unfortunately I did it right before I had to trade it in for my GP3

Link me to the filter?
ugg Im always dropping screws... haha! Awesome video! MINI likes to overcharge for a lot of stuff and you can save a lot if you do things yourself
I donate a lot of screws to the lower pan of the car as well
Excellent, good informative video and definitely an easy project. Thank You !
Glad it proved helpful!
buongiorno, utilizzare un filtro sportivo... si corre il rischio di inquinare il debimetro? grazie mille, giuseppe
If you are buying a quality one from a known manufacturer, then no, you shouldnt have any issues with the mass air sensor in my experience.
Thank you ! I love your video. I have a Mini Cooper key ring for you if you want it! Mini one
Super helpful
Glad to hear!
Too long
