College really does not serve to develop players. Zion should not be played as a post player, he should develop his playmaking and shooting. His potential would be wasted as a post scorer, instead he should be used to take full advantage of his speed and explosive power and ball handling, as a playmaker and driver.
depends on the opponent--they used Zion to attack the zone around the FT area (this is where you'll find him vs UVA too) and he did a great job of it using exactly what you said--taking advantage of his explosive power and speed. In other games, he gets the ball all over the court and usually begins to operate further from the basket. He also has the green light on three's so I don't fully understand your criticism. Secondly, the player should do what's best for the team... if that means being used in the post, then use him in the post. If that means jacking up three's, then jack up three's. This was all understood by both parties during recruitment... btw, he's thriving and showing off a much more complete game than people gave him credit for. As for developing--that happens plenty in college but is directly correlated with how long they are there--much more development in 3-4 year players than in OAD's simply because it takes time to develop certain skill sets.

Right now he's taking set shot three's and has a pull-up jumper that he's used a handful of times around the FT line and closer. All players make some small sacrifices... if they don't, they're not considered team players. Not sure how else he should be utilized that would satisfy you here. Please enlighten me.

It depends on the team they play and syracuse is a good team. Zion is way more efficient than rj and at the worst case he's just having an OK night. On the other hand rj has some very bad nights like yesterday. Off course he's going to affect the game more than zion when he takes 25 shots per game and zion takes like 15.
No Zions off nights don't take 30 shots off the teams offense. His basketball iq is way higher so he does other things on his off nights while RJ keeps ramming his head against the wall.

Tre is the singularly most important player but, as much of a fan of Cam I am (didn't mean for that to sound Dr. Suess-like), he's the least important of the four.
When Zion has an off night they still win, but when RJ has one they lose. It looks to me like he's the X-factor for this team.

It depends on the team they play and syracuse is a good team. Zion is way more efficient than rj and at the worst case he's just having an OK night. On the other hand rj has some very bad nights like yesterday. Off course he's going to affect the game more than zion when he takes 25 shots per game and zion takes like 15.
No Zions off nights don't take 30 shots off the teams offense. His basketball iq is way higher so he does other things on his off nights while RJ keeps ramming his head against the wall.
let's not at like this loss had nothing to do with their best three point shooter (Cam) and their floor general (Jones) out too--Jones had four steals in the first few minutes before that injury. He's the x-factor running the offense and being their best defender.
