Stealth is becoming obsolete, over the horizon radar or look down radar can detect stealth airplanes, no need for stealth anymore it's a waste of money...

Eh what? I am pretty sure anyone who has ever updated to a new software system on their old hardware will tell you it slower, is worse than the previous system and downgrades functionality. So this ad is saying that SAAB have found way to upgrade both the software AND the hardware at the same time but just using a software patch or upgrade...this is a joke.

Ugh. If you've written a voiceover, just hire a voiceover artist. Don't torture this poor woman by letting her read a script that's obviously not in her own words.
At first It sounds like all this is obvious, that the software makes the product, but it's not. Very stringent tests has to be met in avionics systems, otherwise major mishaps may happen (refer eg. to Boing 737 Max anti-stall software). Saab's design goals makes a very clear separation between different critical systems such that aircraft safety is never compromised. Further benefits is simplified and lower costs to integrate new weapon systems, and also possibility to open up the software for end customer upgrades - all this without extensive end user costs and exposure to flight critical subsystems. Normally such "enhancements" , i.e. block XX-upgrades costs millions of dollars and is performed in 5-10 years interval's. Since Gripen E's upgrades are like module code, much as a Smart phone, and that's why this is called a Smart fighter (by a very Smart company).
Lockheed Martin with the F-22 and F-35 are the best example of how not to do software development. It took 7 years to integrate the AIM-9X missile into the F-22. The avionics are complete garbage by today's standards, but it is not a major change. The F-35 will have a more Windows Vista like approach to software xD SAAB wants to go in the direction that Smartphones use, getting certified apps ready for the avionics. And since the software is locked into certain parts of the avionics, a software error with a missile release won't kill the flight control system. That is important. To certify one piece of software does not crash the system is very time-consuming and expensive. And since other companies are offering similar solutions, some even with changeable hardware modules, it seems like it makes sense?!

SAAB you should get on to the Irish government on this.
Every country should make their own defence equipment indegenously instead of depending other companies.
Joydev Sarkar do you know where Saab got the jet engine for this? Not Sweden
A lot of countries doesn't have the industrial capacity to develope its own weapons. It's a wonder that Sweden can even create its own jet fighters.
I like this style of video well done to the creator

Saab will win india's mmrca deal of 110+ aircrafts.... Here in india people love gripen rather than new block 70 variant of vintage f16
But IAF did not shortlist Gripen in the previous trails? Is the upcoming MMRCA different requirement?
