Omg good luck to you, I am currently in 7th grade pulling my life together into a piece, started out in 1st grade when I thought school was all about pain and stress but over the years now I realized how important it is! My sister got into Stanford , I personally don't care to go to Stanford.... SO besides all the perquisite stats and numbers, extracurriculars, she approached the whole thing HOLISTICALLY, as told by her college consultant who is an alumni of Stanford ... She was specifically told NOT to have this "Stanford or Bust" mentality...Rather just do your best at and with the thing you can actually care about and take very seriously ...At the end she kept her options open and flexible , was accepted to handful of IVYs, and other top tier UNIs, compared and went with Stanford ONLY because it fit her the best AND not because it was the "best" school or DREAM school to go to
Stanford is my dream college, and I’m pretty serious about it. I own a million sweaters, jackets, posters etc, I have a 4.0 gpa, do sports, extracurriculars, Technology competitions, and more and I’m only in my early MS years. If anyone has any tips for app essays or anything else lmk!
im assuming MS means middle school and i wanna say this, enjoy your middle school years because no college looks at them, nor do high schools unless you're going into some high prestigious high school. it's good to develop these healthy habits for HS, but most importantly remember that these 2-3 years of middle school are the only time periods you have before school becomes truly stressful and all yours grades will be noted. i wish you the best of luck out there!
This is referring to the minimum stats/scores you'll need to meet if you don't have something at the national+ level that sets you apart. So aiming for at least the median of the scores/GPA mentioned in the video is a way to have your application get into the deliberations
I had this video on my playlist back in 2020 because I had a sudden dream that I'm gonna be able to go to stanford... 😭😭 I have great grades and all but it's just isn't possible for me..
Why is Stanford’s average GPA a 4.18, but pretty much everyone who gets in on UA-cam has a minimum of like 4.6. So does that mean that if you have like a 4.2, it’s realistic (just talking GPA btw, not test scores or ECS)
It's definitely realistic to get in with a 4.2! However in the application process, once your GPA is > 4.0 it doesn't really have a strong factor in whether you get in or not
Hi,I have a question to you.I know 5 languages and I have no idea whether i can consider it as an honor or not.Thank you in advance for your response 😊
I have an A- in one of my classes and I'm quite worried as that will lower my gpa significantly right? Like even if your essays and extracirriculars are super awesome, if someone else's is also super awesome, but they have a 4.0 and I have a 3.9, they'd accept the 4.0? I'm really worried about this scenario, like if two apps are similar and mine gets rejected because its a lower gpa. ALSO the class I have A- in is honors geometry. And I want to go for a STEM (hopefully computer science) major which is really math based... will that lower my application having an A- in mathematics class?
Bro if ur a freshman in high school, getting a stupid high gpa doesn’t matter. If anything, going from 3.9 to 4.0 the next year will show improvement and development
Okayy so this is probably weird but I'm in 6th grade watching this, I really wanna go to Stanford. Sometimes though I feel like there is a lot of pressure for being at the top of my class. Both my parents graduated from MIT, so they expect a lot from me because of that. I got a B- on my math test this week and I'm really mad at my self because I'm getting distracted by watching tv instead of preparing. So I'm watching this but I still don't know why I am. I'm going into 7th grade and do you have any tips to motivate myself?
Don't get me wrong I'm not a genius myself but I'm not stupid so the thing what you want to do is no you don't not have to be a genius but what I would recommend is try to get your scores around the 25 ishmark all this crap about you know trying to get a perfect score it's bullshit I'll be completely honest with you they don't just look for that. It's not going to be the thing that's going to stop you from getting in. do a bunch of community service do a bunch of outside activities and you should be fine
I probably spent time spread out over a few months doing practice tests here and there, but I didn't see much progress. It was only when I spent 1-2 weeks consistently grinding and reviewing the tests when I saw my scores improve significantly- that's why I recommend someone just put in the 1-2 weeks straight off the bat since that's the way to see the most results! :)
@@tobihanest Alright thanks for responding! I'll definitely try to do the 1-2 week method. As of now I do a practice test every week, but in the last couple of weeks I'll ramp it up! Thanks for making the video and responding to my comment. Stay safe!
If I have a perfect GPA as well as a 1590 SAT but I am lacking in the extra curriculars, do I still stand a decent chance or will I be in the shadow of other applicants that started their non-profit organizations?
