Frenchman here. I am a frequent AF flyer, and have generally had a great experience, though food is usually a) way better than the vegetarian meal you got and b) miles better from CDG than on the return flights (like when I fly back from Houston). I particularly enjoyed wine and desserts the few times I got to fly business class, but I usually get Prem Eco which is of course a big step down. I just returned from Vegas through ATL with Delta on an aging 767, and I promise I won't complain about AF service again, particularly the food... Love your videos, the combination of honesty and enthusiasm is very engaging, and I also like how you're able to retune your expectations to the context of a given flight. Keep 'em coming !
You’re easily my favourite aviation UA-cam reporter. No overblown cheesy editing with generic stock music like every other channel, just you and your honest opinion, and your funny sense of humour. :)
I flew AF biz class from IAD-CDG on the 777-200, and was super impressed! Food and service was great, and as you said the seats was spacious. Agreed, their safety video I think was also one of the more entertaining ones out there. Not down with all the remote parking stands at CDG though. At one point it felt like we were on the bus for a good 20mins driving to the terminal.
Average start of Dan's video's: "Hey whats up travellers, I'll talk to you on board because I'm a little bit late" haha! Love your video's Dan! Hope to see you one day at AMS!
Im sure this is gonna be another great review!! Love your content! Also I would like to say that you've inspired me so much. The fact you take time to reply to messages and have small talk on instagram shows you are genuine. Thanks so much. :)
I would love for you to do a review of their La Première product. I find your reviews refreshingly honest, so I am sure that review video would be a great watch!
@@malodurand-brochec926 It is because the asian and middle east airlines have been setting the bar higher. European and American airlines are behind with these things. Serving the things on a tray might be normal on european airlines, when you have experienced Singapore Airlines, ANA, Emirates, Qatar like he had, there is a huge difference between their business class. in those airlines their business class is like first class or sometimes even better than first class on european airlines:)
Haha I *LOVE* your humor and all your videos, @Daniel! It was a fun review to watch and I appreciate your honest, genuine opinion on the product! *Keep it up!*
midwest_ aviation I know right! That’s exactly what I was thinking too. It’s a pity that you’d have to lean all the way forward just to get a glimpse of the view.
Nice clip Dan. AF, dunno to me they've just got someting, a vibe I just love. Will always remember a flight into Nice years ago. The crew were all so good looking, tall and sun tanned, so polite and professional. The pilot didn't just decend at Nice, there was a sharp steep bank followed by what was more like a DIVE. He/she was like: OK folks let's have some fun: voila, let's FLY!
I love love love your videos, humor and honesty in reviewing. There is truly nobody like you on UA-cam, so keep up the great work! Editing is getting really good, too! :) I laughed myself silly on the stairclimber today with this video, good entertainment!!
Excellent video Dan. I love Emirates, and I’m waiting to try Qatar, so I rarely consider other airlines but it looks like Air France is definitely worth considering if the price is less!
I flew AF business class from Singapore to Paris on the 777-300 ER. I loved it. The service liked you said was great and I actually enjoyed the food. Would love to fly them again
I just booked AF Business class CDG --> LAX on the 777 and from this video, it was a good choice. Thanks for the review. I'll be taking the standard menu.
Always love your reviews, great job! You work so well with the camera! It's a great talent! I tried it and found it terribly difficult but slowly getting used to it! Keep up the great work!
AF is definitely my favourite Airline ! The Crew are just awesome . Have travelled many times with them ( both Business and First Class ) , and always happy with their excellent service ! Thank you for giving a great review as they deserve that .
If I had paid for Business Class, and got that food, I would cause murder. There are only 4 real differentiators for BC - lounge/boarding, seat, food/drink and service. There is no excuse for one of those being poor, with the prices they charge...
Bad food is really the worst for me. I really couldn't care if the headphones are poor, or about the kits or the blankets or the extra storage space here or there. The food HAS to be *_at least_* good in Business!
Wondering whether it is because of vege meal. A normal meal is much better than vege in any airline. Some airlines serve Kosher or seafood options, and they are normally better than steak option.
@@mangoliang4106 There is no excuse for the lack of ability to make a decent salad. That looked like a handful of bagged supermarket salad. Costs nothing to buy! Not even a french dressing? Ooh La La!
Jo Dus I mainly pay for the seat size lol, I take my own preferred snakes or meal so I really get what I want completely! Hawaiian airlines was the best 1st class food I have had to date
I loveeee this channel and dan is probably the most genuine reviewer and his attention to detail is amazing. Two things however which I (Personally) wish could be better is 1- non vegetarian options. Understandable but would’ve been great to see those as well. 2- more first class airport lounge / private car service footage :)))
First of all, thank you so much for sharing your flight experience with us, you are such a polite and nice guy and I appreciate all your velogs, I have no situation for traveling like what you do, but whenever I watch your videos, it seams like I’m traveling 🧳, I also love your amenity kit explanation, cause it’s my favorite part. Perfect vlog as always. I have only flown Air France long distance in economy but even that was a great experience. Hope your visit to the dentist goes well. Having a wisdom tooth pulled out is rarely a pleasure.
KLM and Air France are actually merged in the same holding company so not surprised that you were likely served the same (or very similar) meal on both! great review dan :)
Did 4 business class flights last weekend, two with KLM and two with Air France. I will never do Business class again (in Europe) with Air France since they make no difference in economy and business class leg space. The food was poor as well compared to KLM. Maybe I will try long haul with Air France but in doubt... Not even talking about the cabin crew that had a bad mood, compared to the friendly crew of KLM who made me very happy.
NOOO THE BUS!!! But the true reasoning behind it is because the 777's wingspan can't fit into CDG's gate, I asked before when I was in CDG and they told me that. But your problem will be resolved by 2020 because... THE 777X! They have folded wingtips so they can fit into Modern gates, so I hope your excited for that✌Enjoy your day or night!✌🤓
No, the 777 fits in the gates at CDG (at least in the terminal from which he was boarding - which parks 777s of all kinds and A380), it is mostly due to airport and parking congestion in CDG
@@alkordi yes (or anything else like a change of plane due to a technical reason for example). But for sure, the gates at this terminal are totally fine with 77 ;)

Yes, I agree Dan...I don't know why airlines are so funny about filming, EVERYONE's doing it these days, surely the airlines should be THANKFUL for a bit of free advertising, particularly after this pandemic. And you're right, it's all in the tone & delivery and Etihad need to retrain their crews on how to address customers politely & correctly, PARTICULARLY in First & Business...keep up the good work, we LOVE your videos...
Personally I love long bus rides around the airport because you often get super close to planes. I was on one at LAX and we drove a few metres in front of about 4 A380s which was so cool.
Hope you're enjoying your time in Korea, I did a semester at KU in 2015, one of the best/most drunk periods of my life! A bonus episode on the Seoul subway system and its connection to Incheon Airport could be interesting :)
Really pleased to hear how the Air France crew asked you not to film the or other passengers. That’s the way to do it. 👌👍 I had a slightly unpleasant experience recently on a QantasLink flight where a flight attendant came up to me while I was seated (in a full cabin) and told me quite sternly that filming the crew (I caught a tiny bit of the safety demonstration on my GoPro) was a breach of regulations and I had to delete the footage immediately. She then got the senior flight attendant to come up and repeat this. It was like being told off and so embarrassing. 🥺
I'm totally fine with serving meals on a tray. They are effective and time-saving, giving people more time to sleep, and it's not too shabby (admittedly the food themselves don't seem to be very high quality). If you want a high-end service, go to a restaurant or go First.
She asked you not to film the pax due to the new European Privacy law. I am glad she told you like that. That is how you communicate. Beautifully. Cheers.
