They were fanatical, violent men, who partook in some of history's greatest atrocities and most pointless wars. The music is good, and a vibe, but don't idolize dying and killing for such meaningless things as "that guy over there thinks god has a different name than I think he does".
@@rclipse1985 It's not just about God and it's hardly meaningless. Religion is a way of thinking, culture and a way of life. Judaism gave us western law, western morals, western tradition. To say it's just for a God completely misses the point of human warfare. We kill one another mostly for control over resources and economics these days, but war hasn't always been about solely that. Humanity is guided by its beliefs and principles. We're literally shaping our own evolution through warfare.
Stabbing a man in the face because he thinks God is called Allah while you think he's called Yahweh, or you two believe Yahweh said something different than what the other guy believes he said, is not "shaping our own evolution", it's murdering our own kind. Also, no, Judaism did not give us "western law, western morals, and western tradition". If anything, religion has been a hindrance to our further development as a species. Whilst specifically I'm referring to the Christian catholic church with the fork thing, religion has opposed such things as: -Forks -Healthcare -Freedom of speech And supported/caused such things as: -Violent colonialism and genocide, even up to this day -Cults wherein women dress as if they're living three centuries ago and children are raped by the leader, claiming to be a prophet (FLDS) -Aaaanything horrible happening to queer people, with Pope Francis getting pushback for saying they don't all need to perish -The Bosnian genocide -ISIS -Hereditary monarchies, which claim their right to rule is given to them by god There's many, many more, in both columns, we could fill in. Religion has been a net loss for humanity. If we are supposed to kill and die "for our beliefs", there are much better belief systems we could kill and die in the name of. @@whozyourdaddy

Teacher: we are going to Jerusalem next week
Girls: ohh no, so boring
Boys:
I would love to see them back in this modern world , these were real men who were strong , lived for a noble cause and had dignity which can not be found in this world anymore.
Hell yeah brother
They were fanatical, violent men, who partook in some of history's greatest atrocities and most pointless wars. The music is good, and a vibe, but don't idolize dying and killing for such meaningless things as "that guy over there thinks god has a different name than I think he does".
Well they slaughtered everyone in Jerusalem
Whilst specifically I'm referring to the Christian catholic church with the fork thing, religion has opposed such things as:
-Forks
-Healthcare
-Freedom of speech
And supported/caused such things as:
-Violent colonialism and genocide, even up to this day
-Cults wherein women dress as if they're living three centuries ago and children are raped by the leader, claiming to be a prophet (FLDS)
-Aaaanything horrible happening to queer people, with Pope Francis getting pushback for saying they don't all need to perish
-The Bosnian genocide
-ISIS
-Hereditary monarchies, which claim their right to rule is given to them by god
There's many, many more, in both columns, we could fill in. Religion has been a net loss for humanity. If we are supposed to kill and die "for our beliefs", there are much better belief systems we could kill and die in the name of.
