Great job Rick, you don't constantly interrupt your guest like all the rest. Excellent questions and very thoughtful answers from Brian.

The Rory Gallagher story is really nice to hear, every time someone tells a story about him he just sounded like a really nice guy.

As a Yank, I have to hand it to the Brits.
They have the best rock stars, bar none.

Yeah and the real life ones are even better than the Spinal Tap versions! Ha ha! Though as a Brit I have to add, rock n roll came out of the USA - no Chuck Berry and Elvis, no Beatles, Queen, Rick Wakeman and so on. You guys started it...we soon joined in the fun.

@@mikephillips8810 Indeed, we play a game of "catch" with each other, musically speaking.

Chuck Berry and Elvis might not think so.

Love to both these guys, especially Brian, who broke my heart with his Christmas tweet about his loneliness and depression, proving that even people who have achieved remarkable things and lived a full life are still subject to the same laws of the mind as the rest of us.

Glad someone gave the link for this full version. Rick Wakeman made the interview a conversation, and I got the chance to eavesdrop. Oh happy day.

A brilliant series Rick, a chance to find out the background stories that most of us knew nothing about.

"These are the days of our lives" written by Roger Taylor mentioned here by Brian in this superb interview with Rick.....what an amazing piece of music that was, which, whatever genre of music you like, hits a chord. RIP Freddie.

0:46 he says "And never will again" and yet, he did pretty much the same thing this year! In fact, he topped his performance from the last time! Absolutely LOVE Brian May

These interviews are great. The common thread is the these big stars is that there is no vanity and none of that sudo ‘rock n roll’ speak. Ultimate professionals, proud of what they have achieved with no sense of entitlement. Thanks.

Awesome! I think it’s the third time I watched this. 2 legends and gentlemen 👍🏻🙏🏻

Great conversation by these two legends!
I guess Brian, or Roger or John (just might be him..., 😉) really should start writing a book about their band and about them being in it.
These three guys really have many a story to tell. All three of them are more than capable enough to share their (personal) visions about their little band with the world out there, that’s going to be really needing them now and in the future.
It’s never going to be a ‘One Vision’ thing and it doesn’t needs to be in any way.
I’ve read and re-read everything there is about to read about Queen. Books are way better than docu’s, films or upcomming bio-musicals (🤢).
And, I’d love (at least) three more books about this band and its members that changed my life forever since I was born in ‘72.
I’ve been playing bass since I could hold one in the ‘80’s because of John in Queen, and still love it and play it in my various bands up until this day! So, thank you!
I’d love to read John’s, Roger’s and Brian’s personal (!) views on their life with music, their peers, and their band!
Come on fellows: ‘Get on your bikes, and ride!!’ 😉

A nice interview, I really enjoyed it. Have to say, though, that neither Eddie Floyd nor Sam and Dave were Tamla Motown, it was Stax.

Ps. I love Queen Mk1, but hate the idea of the musical. Also, is it incongruous for Rock music to seek, desire or gain “acceptance”?

great interview. seeing Bob Harris in the titles, do you have the interview with him that Rick did or was it not aired? sure Bob would have had some great music stories to tell

7:02 and just before, funny how rock 'n' roll, that is supposed to be "anti-establishment, against the rules, I will do what I want" can't wait to be accepted by the masses and caressed like a good boy, like a dog.
