OMG! I have NEVER seen so many people want to pet a horse so badly! Let alone- haven't seen one up close. Poor horse- I can't help to think they are so over-stimulated.

Don't touch the horse, don't lean on the horse. Don't stick your overextended finger nails, in horses eyes either. These are working Guards and horses, not a friggin petting zoo, for blocks of school children. Word has it, there's a lovely petting zoo with all sorts of animals, where I'm sure you could spend all day, somewhere around London.
Put up a barrier protecting the horses and guards from the public. A lot of the people think of the horses as a photo op and nothing more. So disrespectful.
They can't put up barriers because the pavement belongs to the City Of London Council and is a public right-of -way. Inside the gates, it belongs to the MOD. If you put barriers up and the horse gets spooked, it'll break it's neck trying to get away. That's why you can't put barriers or fences up.
If the King is aware of what the guards and the horses endure, why doesn’t he do something to protect them? It almost seems that no one cares. You can tell some o these horses are stressed.
Hi! It does look that way doesn't it, but it's actually the other way around. The guards are just doing their job. Their job is protect the King from these disrespectful tourist as well as real dangers. That's all. That's all they are there for. To b honest. The King could stop tourists visiting the grounds, but the guards would still be on the border of the property, on the pavement, just the same. Plus they wouldn't make any cash. As for the public. It's up to the police to control them. If you look at the side of the box. There is a red button. They can push it at any time to ask for help from his buddies. Usually the armed police will come and sort it out. If the horse feels overwhelmed. The horse will kick out or charge at the public. They can look after themselves. It's worth remembering that the horses stand there for one hour, every two to three weeks. So life's not too bad for them. Plus. These are real working soldiers. Not actors like actors you get at Disney. Which is where the disrespect comes from. I totally feel your frustration though. It's not easy watching our service men and beasts being ridiculed. ❤
It would be a matter for the Ministry of Defence I think. King Charles could make recommendations but I believe this falls under the government's jurisdiction. The Monarchy doesn't get to do nearly as much bossing around since 1660.

Leider leider werden diese Schilder nicht gelesen. Die meisten Touristen meinen, das Verbotsschilder immer nur für die Anderen gelten, oder sie sehen die Schilder garnicht, weil sie immer ihr Handy vor ihrem Gesicht haben. Die sind teilweise so weggetreten und ihrer eigenen Welt unterwegs, dass sie gar nicht bemerken, wo sie sich befinden.
This is actually a tourist attraction and the palace would be well aware of the amount of tourists this attracts. The tourists pay for a lot of the Palace running costs. The guards keep the horses safe, they know exactly how much the horse can take and would never let harm come to them.
I believe the king should stop anyone from approaching the horses some people act like animals and don't know how to act around a horse. Respect the horse or you will get hurt

People should be made aware of what a rewarding job it is to work for the Royal Guard. This isn't a theater performance, it's really hard work. Everything here follows strict rules, which is why you shouldn't stand in the way of the Royal Guard when they walk across the square. This job is also very strenuous for the Royal Horses. They have to stand there for long hours, which makes them very tired, as you can see when they take turns lifting their legs up to relieve the strain, so take this to heart and follow the rules!!!

I counted right at 100 people getting their pictures taken and at least 75 people petting the horse in 30 minutes, talk about stipulation! Wow! So sad for the horses! I am so very happy they quit letting people stop touching the horses! Now if they reinforcement it! It will not help the horses if they don’t reinforce the new rules!

Ich verstehe nicht, dass jeder meint, dass Pferd anfassen zu müssen. Was soll das, was bringt das?????Ganze Schulklassen werden an die Pferde herangeführt. Die Lehrer scheinen noch weniger ihr Hirn zu benutzen wie die Kinder. Man muss den Kindern doch vermitteln, dass es reicht, sich das Pferd und Wachmann nur anzusehen. Die Kinder aufklären, wo sie sich befinden, was s für eine Bedeutung hat und wie sie sich zu benehmen haben.
