Dr Omeri you said you studied history and the reason why Dr. Ibiam was made governor is to make Ebonyi become Igbo. What an arrant nonsense. First in the first Republic there was nothing like states but eastern, western and northern regions. There was nothing like Ebonyi State. So when did Ebonyi came into structural existence as to say they are not igbos. On the issue of what the military did what stopped those that overthrew Aguiyi Ironsi from restoring the governance of Nigeria to what it was before if they are sincere.

This Mr mike is showing that we still have more problem that we ever had, first he said without being asked that the sense of entitlement will not move us forward,then he said ebonyi people wants to leave Igbos and quoted an incident of being the governor of the then eastern region that didn't even recognize ebonyi now he is saying what are we returning to,if it is three regions or six that the constitution did not recognize six geopolitical zones but he argued that Nigerians didn't write their constitution,and first said the unity of Nigeria started after the 1966 coup but later he agreed that Nigeria came together by negotiation before the independence which contradicts his claim of when the unity started, finally he is saying that we have outgrown three regional government that if you want us to return you should give him middle belt region and he wants to write a story
This is really confusing for a PhD. holder in history. He is not stable in his position.
We cannot build one Nigeria by force but by negotiation and a change of the skewed structure of Nigeria that favours some above others.

This Omeri is not a deep thinking man. Nigeria is much younger than any of its component parts. He keeps talking about making Nigeria one but not addressing the injustices that prevent that. For example, where else in Nigeria do you have Police, Army, Navy, Customs, etc check points every 1-2 miles extorting citizens as has been the case in the SE for more than 40 years now.

Whenever i hear people saying Nigeria constitution was drafted by military and not by Nigerians i tend to agree with this general perception that Africans do not bother to read documents especially historical ones. I will like to refer this category of people to read about constitutional development in Nigeria especially the making of 1979 and by extension 1999 constitution supretended by the military: the formation of drafting committee, the constituent assembly (majority of whom were elected to debate the constitution), adoption of the constitution. If those who did that were from the moon, then i will accept their narrative otherwise we should stop deceiving the unsuspecting masses. The constitution may have some imperfections but that it was not made by Nigerians is totally untrue.
