Of course, you can buy okra or piri piri spices in stores. Culinary Black Africa does not exist in Poland. There are so many regions and countries there. We know nothing about it practically. However, I live in the UK. There are many interesting places in London, but in the provinces there is also a desert. :-)))))

Good choice!) - white is farmer's cheese based, the pink - spiced pork meat based ("metka") Tartar steak - super delicacy! Very filling. Have it only ONCE A DAY, good to follow with white, clear, cold vodka! :) :) Etc. :) I see you are in Toruń - one of my favorite cities in Poland (birthlplace of Nicolaus Copernicus). The best thing about traditional home made bigos is that basic recipe is something that almost everyone knows. Its just sauerkraut cooked with meat and few other things. But every family has their own personal touch to it thas is passed from generation to generation and often constantly perfected in the process. I mean Sectret additional ingredients and different tweaks and so on... If you visit few different houses and you will be given bigos in each of them you wont eat 2 portions that will taste and "feel" the same. Personaly I like for example to add meat from differnt cuts to provide some variety of flavour and texrure... Also Im adding spices like dried paprika and whole grain mustard...
Steak tartare (raw) is delicious! Seriously! Good quality beef, egg yolk, olive oil, lots of pepper, salt. And also chopped: onion, marinated mushrooms, chopped pickled cucumber. This is spicy
There is a legend that this raw steak was brought by the Tatars in the Middle Ages, when they often attacked Poland from the east. That's why it's called Tatar. These Tatars were nomads from the steppes.

You can find tatar anywhere in Europe its a very popular dish . The trick is a high quality fresh meat and you good to go so be very careful definitely never try supermarkets meat. I tried many time in Czech Republic same place with a nice cold beer it's fantastic.
Only thing I can say... Comercial dishes have nothing with traditional Pols food _-_ You need to go for some Agroturystyka in a smal tawn :) THan you can tell whats good ;)

The best thing about traditional home made bigos is that basic recipe is something that almost everyone knows. Its just sauerkraut cooked with meat and few other things. But every family has their own personal touch to it thas is passed from generation to generation and often constantly perfected in the process. I mean Sectret additional ingredients and different tweaks and so on... If you visit few different houses and you will be given bigos in each of them you wont eat 2 portions that will taste and "feel" the same. Personaly I like for example to add meat from differnt cuts to provide some variety of flavour and texrure... Also Im adding spices like dried paprika and whole grain mustard...

Steak tartare (raw) is delicious! Seriously! Good quality beef, egg yolk, olive oil, lots of pepper, salt. And also chopped: onion, marinated mushrooms, chopped pickled cucumber. This is spicy
There is a legend that this raw steak was brought by the Tatars in the Middle Ages, when they often attacked Poland from the east. That's why it's called Tatar. These Tatars were nomads from the steppes.
The food always look delicious and tasty and it also seems the prices not bad at all.

@@HabeshaTraveler You can eat kompot as fruit soup served in hot days. Basically you add pasta to the kompot, some cream and serce it in room temperature or slightly chilled. The best imo is one made of sour cherries or plums.

You can find tatar anywhere in Europe its a very popular dish . The trick is a high quality fresh meat and you good to go so be very careful definitely never try supermarkets meat. I tried many time in Czech Republic same place with a nice cold beer it's fantastic.
So out of all these,which one is the best? I would like to try also when I visit Poland.
Only thing I can say... Comercial dishes have nothing with traditional Pols food _-_ You need to go for some Agroturystyka in a smal tawn :) THan you can tell whats good ;)

@@HabeshaTraveler Pyzy z zawijanymi zrazami w sosie grzybowym, bitki, leniwe( kind of gnocchi but instead of potato quark cheese is used in making dough) served with browned bread crumbs, melted butter and brown sugar, knedle ( potato dough filed with plums) served same way as leniwe.
