How does the shifter work? I get how sequential gearboxes are oriented and how they work, but I hear a pneumatic device and I can never find anything about how air shifters work
Jon Powers damn, I want to build one for private use as I will likely not race it legally lol but it would need deeper pockets anyway. Thanks for the reply.
Noah Adi yep. Fsae cars usually use the motorcycle engines which have attached dog box style transmissioons which can be shifted between gears without clutch up and down, you just need clutch to get them rolling.
Fluffymuffins246 it's a standard motorcycle clutch usually for fsae vehicles, looks like they chose a handle behind the steering wheel connected via a push pull cable. That's how my Mississippi team did it for a bit.
Great video, don't usually see these on the roads amongst other traffic. I'm sure it was a blast to drive like that.
I love the double take a Five Guys. Great car, sounds amazing too
interesting clutch
thanks

Building a FSAE would be so awesome. No problem thanks for the comments! Subscribe please!
Jon Powers already have :)
Dodging potholes even in a racecar lol
yessir, pittsburgh streets
Shits almost as damaging as child support
Its probably even more crucial to do it for a race car because they sit so low and have tiny tyres
do you only use the clutch for 1st and then quick shift the rest of the time?

What is the clutching like on these?
