The track tells the story of a person whose world is falling apart. The lyrics include references to drinking and drug use, with the protagonist feeling the effects of someone else's alcohol consumption ("Somebody's Heine' is crowdin' my icebox"). They are also wrestling with their inner feelings, trying to keep cool and avoid confrontation that might hurt someone they care about. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "Say it ain't so" twice, with the first line referencing the other person's drug use as a heartbreaker, and the second line referring to the protagonist's love as a life taker. The final verse brings in a third perspective, that of the father, who has seemingly cleaned up and found religion. However, the protagonist is still affected by his past actions, as they find a bottle of Steven's that "awakens ancient feelings." The son is drowning in the flood, both literally and metaphorically, and the chorus repeats once more, asking the other person to deny the truth of their actions. Overall, the song explores themes of addiction, family dysfunction, and the struggle to maintain relationships in the face of challenging circumstances.

blue albums popular again lol
This song is one of my favorites and will never stop being my top 1, sad thing is that on December my dog passed away and this song was one of the last I was listening to when she died, I’ll always miss her.
When you dont want to shower: say it ain't soap
When you ask your friend which of the three stooges is his favorite: say it ain't moe
When your bf/gf is telling you about their fetish: say it ain't toe
When you join the limbo game late: say it ain't low
When you hate the vocalist for Weezer: say it ain't Cuomo
When I ran out of puns: say it ain't so
When you ask yourself if you should make a pun comment: say no
when: no
FlaFla Flamingo When you need to use your gestures to defeat Lord Gibby.
When it's cold: say it ain't snow (by freezer)
When a cop gets paralyzed from the waist down: Say it ain't joe (by peeter)
People used to listen to this on their CD players or record players. Some people listen to this on their iPhones with AirPods in. Some people never stopped listening to weezer. Some people are just getting into Weezer. It doesn’t matter, everybody in this comment section can just vibe together. Weezer=best band ever!!!
have a great day man
I got into Weezer in about 2017, I was in middle school and I heard a parody of "Beverly Hills" on the Simpsons, and I actually liked it. When i asked about the song my uncle laughed and said it was Weezer, and since then I've discovered a lot of songs by them and I really fuckin love them, they're also relatable.
Some people stick a Bluetooth speaker up their rectum and listen to this
This brings me back to the Rock Band days. Loved that game.
I love this song
Never really listened to the lyrics until a few days ago. My brother had a drug/ alcohol problem for many years and died of a fentanyl overdose. The lyric, “Your drug is a heartbreaker” chilled me to the bone. Yes, it sure is. RIP Matt.
My dad would play this when I got home from kinder every day
cant believe this song is this old already... both of my kids 11 and 6 love this song as much as I do but for different reasons. RIP DD this ones for you gone but never forgotten.
Well say it ain’t so.
I’m 10 years late.
I’m 14 years late
The bubbling and the high so at the end are magnificent 👌🏻
This is one of those songs that no matter how bad your day is.. hearing it makes everything better.
Whenever life gets heavy, I listen to this song.
Say it ain't so :(
Same
same
probably why your life sucks lol
every time i listen to it i remember the happiest days of my life. it always makes me cry.
Still remember hearing this in the 1st grade back in 2004. This song and band always stuck with me lol, they are truly underrated!
" Somebody's cold one, is giving me chills.
Guess i'll just close my eyes.."
They look like it's school picture day and only one of them had enough money for the picture so they made it a group picture
it was matt sharp for sure

It’s 2008 and you just set up rockband and started playing with ur fam ur mom just ordered some pizza and life is good...
Playing Guitar hero with the homies
my rock band disk only doesnt load say it aint so, very sad
sad what families must go through
i wish the family was a place of strength and peace in all people's life
kinda sucks to realize it mostly is not the case...
sad that we all kinda suffer...
Kitty Scherbatskaya my family is great, but it kills me when people, especially those I love like friends or the ones you're in relationships, have terrible family life.
I like how after hearing the matt sharp only version you can actually hear his voice in the original. It's not fake, he really does sing that high.
truly the album cover of all times
Oh this is the original version, where the lead guitar is only in the right channel and there's a little bit of feedback during the pauses of the first chorus.
The feedback is dope
Makes it sound better, imo
Now that i finally know the meaning of this song it got a little more emotional
Rob Schneider yup
your show sucks rob
Is a carrot.
Thanks for telling Adam Sandler
@@Dan-qx5mi rated pg-13!
Even today- this is still the best song to play on drums
I really love my birds and Raymunda my chicken passed away. Something so beautiful and innocent dying isn't fair. And this song really makes me feel that. Her love is a heartbreaker. Misunderstood and undervalued, love comes in many forms in many ways! I'll miss her.
My favorite rock band song, I would holler at the top of my lungs.
Стой!
there’s a joke boy band of seniors at my high school and on friday they performed this and it was so cringey but the guitar solo was really good, pretty much the only good thing to come from that day
This Bottle of Steven's awakens ancient Feelings. I Change my Maladaptive Behavior with Alcohol that used to Prevent me from Adapting or Adjusting to different aspects of Life many years ago and that line always makes me reflect how true it was 😁
my parents used to always sing this song around me, and they still do. i never really registered that it was weezer, so now im kinda just processsing that..
SAY IT AINT SOOOO WAOOAHH WAOOAAAAH
Knowing the backstory to this song makes it hit hard.
Que hermoso
Every member of Weezer looks like high schoolers tryna talk to girls
The riffs here are so sweet and innocent and melancholic-ish while being poppy I love this song so much
A good start to 2022 listening to this masterpiece!!
3:29 is the best part
My older brother showed me this song on are way to grandmas higher then a kite. Happy birthday big bro
This song progressively gets better after you realise matt is doing falsetto background vocals
Every time I listen to this song I just imagine walking down an old country town on the coast of California with my uncle who loved this song R.I.P uncle Fred
Man idk how this song doesn’t have billions views but the Bieber does
Jesus what is this world coming too
Just saw the Weezer concert. (Wasn't really a fan but I was volunteering where they hold concerts so I got to listen.) Great song! Ngl preferred it at the concert than this version but still cool song.
Wow I didn’t realize my middle school history, English, math and choir director had a band
I remember this song as a guitar hero one and I love it 💜🤗
Is it bad to say that this song genuinely saved my life
“Like father, stepfather, the son is drowning in the flood”. As a father abandoned by booze and a stepfather dead because of booze and me sitting here half drunk writing this comment… at least I’m not alone.
Hey, you can always be the one to break the cycle. I hope you can find your peace, man.
@@TheCabIemeans a lot, same to you.
This song still rocks after all these years
True
Man, I'm amazed these have so little views. Far superior sound quality compared to alot of the other weezer stuff on here
they're amazing live
Just in the mood for weezer
Idk but the “bubblehehehn” is just ✨😩🦋
