    Nice KOMODO I probably missed that video when you guys got it! I’m currently using the pocket 6k underwater. I’m very happy with it.

      Well we haven’t really officially announced it. The unit we had with us on Bonaire island was a rental unit because our ordered Komodos didn’t arrive in time. We just received them this week and will make a specific video announcing our move to RED and why we decided to make this move soon. 😉

      Yes you can. Also check out their new model, the P1: ua-cam.com/video/UWGlGrNMAl4/v-deo.htmlsi=hmnWXdPWG8QH2rq3
      This you can mount on to your tank or onto your legs for hands free operation. Hope this helps?

      I can't give you the exact numbers, because I didn't do a scientific test regarding the battery life. From my personal experience I would guess it will run for about 20-25 minutes continuously on the highest power setting.

    Did you buy the scooter for your own money or got it for free or with big discount?

    Thanks for the great review especially the part on mounting the Komodo onto the Lefeet S1 Pro. I’ve always wanted to mount a camera rig on top of an underwater scooter and the small size of this scooter might finally make me get one. Can you please let me know how the camera housing can be mounted onto the Lefeet S1 Pro? I’m using the Nauticam NA-A7SIII. I can’t find any info on the underwater weight of the Lefeet S1 Pro. Did you take a measurement? Are there any screw threaded holes on the underside of the scooter? Thanks in advance.

    • @lordvisionz
      @lordvisionz 2 роки тому

      I'm interested in knowing this too! I have a Nauticam GH5 with an EMWL lens that I just can't seem to use it without a tripod. This might be the answer!

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 роки тому

      Hey John
      We took a very simple approach of mounting the Komodo on top of the action cam attachment of the S1PRO. It worked but was kind of wobbly. I’m currently working on a better solution. There are no threaded holes on the scooter other than the once to connect more than one scooter to each another.
      Not entirely sure about the negative lift of the scooter in water. I didn’t take a measurement. I would guess around 500 - 1000 grams. Hope this helps a bit?

    • @johnlye3366
      @johnlye3366 2 роки тому

      @@MatthiasLebo Many thanks for your reply. I can imagine it won’t be very secure since something like a dowel screw, i.e. screw with threads on both ends, is used. The Dual Jet Rail kit seems to be able to mount a camera rig in the middle but will mean having to buy and travel with two units of the scooter! The reason why I asked about any threaded holes on the underside of the scooter is because of concerns that the whole setup (with a camera rig mounted on top) will topple over, potentially damaging buttons and levers on the housing or scratching the dome port, when we hand over the whole setup to the crew on a tender after surfacing and this is always a nightmare for all underwater shooters! I wish the scooter has threaded holes underneath so as to attach a tripod or quad pod base. The two handles may help to prevent the setup toppling over but they don’t seem to give much stability especially in the kind of conditions we face out at sea. Anyway, I’ll still seriously consider getting it. I’m sure you’ll be giving some feedback to the firm and hopefully they’ll perhaps make some changes that really involve very little engineering but go a long way to make the scooter more versatile. I look forward to your next review of interesting gadgets. Once again, thanks for your effort.

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 роки тому +3

      Well, I guess it’s not made for strong currents. As long as you can fin against a current the scooter will be able to handle it too. Anything stronger than that, I don’t think it’ll work. 😉

  • @BurhanMuntasser

    Thank you for the review. Do you know approximately how long the batteries last at each power setting please?

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  2 роки тому +3

      Well I haven't done any scientific test regarding the battery, but from experience I can tell you the following:
      Using the LEFEET S1 PRO on the lowest level it will easily last a dive (60 min). If you use it constantly on the medium level you'll probably get around 45 min out of it (constant use) and on the highest level about 20-25 minutes. Please don't take these numbers as written in stone. They just represent my experience and how I used the scooter. They may differ depending on the drag the scooter has to pull through the water.
      Hope this helps.

    I tested out the lefeet S1 pro today. I had a couple thermal layers + DUI CF 200x crushed neoprene drysuit with about 32 pounds of weight. I have a Steel HP 117 tank that I mounted my Lefeet S1 pro to the backside of my BC, next to the tank. On the other side of the tank I had a small pony bottle since I mostly solo dive. The camera I was using is a GH5 in Nauticam + EMWL + 2 keldans. There was a mild current today of maybe 0.1-0.2kt max and the lefeet S1 pro didn't have any power to push me against the current, at best I moved millimeters per second. I weigh about 160 lbs. Personal opinion, Lefeet might have made a great product for warm water or even lighter cold water diving like California with less gear. But its not powerful enough to drag someone creating a lot of drag with a heavy coldwater gear and camera

    • @MatthiasLebo
      @MatthiasLebo  Рік тому

      Thank you buddy for sharing your experience with the S1 here with us. You're probably right, and it might not be a scooter to be used with heavy gear in cold water. But I don't think that's the aim of it. I've never had any problems with its power, but I also don't use such heavy equipment when diving in cold water, just a simple drysuit, a mono 12l steel tank and my camera setup. And with this I felt it was powerful enough.
