There are so many steps! I don't think kids would have the patience. Even just watching I didn't. I kept thinking dang waiting for something to happen. I love the smoke affects for these and the critters are always so cute!

This one does not use any water. The genie lamp comes with mist solution already inside and ready to go. After several uses it will start to run out of the mist. They have mist refill bottle you can buy if you want to. You can also go through the process without the mist. The Magic Cauldron also uses the mist solution for the mist but you add water to start making your potion. I hope that helps!
