Keep the white lines, less stress on the horse and the trooper. The outside area comes under Westminster Council, who would have approved the white lines.
I look forward to the day when we meet a sane, clever, bright, respectful. intelligent and educated tourist. Criticised because of unclear, unwritten rules which cannot be enforced anyway.
The vast majority keep to the rules. Even though I doubt if these white lines can legally be enforced as the pavement is a public thougherfare, and we have never seen anyone arrested. Yes there are a small minority of idiot tourists but then we have our fair share of home grown idiots too.
@@PaulineTownsend-j4z This thoroughfare should not be a right of way but Westminster council will not change the law. there is a wide pavement on the other side of the street, this is first and foremost a military barracks and should be kept free of people for protection if for no other reason, People do not realise that this is a military barracks because they haven't been told this in anyway by HCAV, maybe if this was know the idiot tourists would know that this isn't an amusement park or petting zoo, there is a great deal of fault on the Councils side and HCAV. If I had been in charge there wouldn't be a free for all there would be only paid tour groups then the rules that are not enforced wouldn't be needed as the front of horse guards would be a no go area and not part of the street. As you say the rules are not enforced by HCAV, guards or Westminster Council who are stuck in the dark ages. They manage to protect downing street so just extend this to Horse Guards by making the whole side of this street off limits to the public giving the troopers and horses the quiet they need to do their jobs properly without having to keep tourists at bay, I don't think even the thickest tourist would want to stand in the busy road to gawp at the guards and horses. As a horse lover I know who really needs the protection.
Tourists slow, not understanding the words said by policeman, and the Importance of getting right back for Safety reasons !! Though this is public area, the Soldiers & Horses still have their Routines, so it would be Commonsense to LISTEN to Instructions. Tourists do visit here to see the Military and Horses I assume, so they should realize that Military and Horses especially Need space to Move around without Naive people wandering around not aware that police are urgently telling them to get right back !! 🇬🇧
When a horse continues to throw its head up, it’s obvious that it is not comfortable in its mouth. Why can’t riders/owners sort the bit or whatever the problem is? Can you imagine having something uncomfortable in your mouth all day?
The bit is fine.Horses dont like the rain and they are only out there for an hour
Iam surprised the amount of people who take very young children there
Horse doesn't like the umbrellas

The police have to push back the tourists earlier and keep them there.

Why are people wheeling their babes around in open strollers in a rainstorm?

The horse doesn’t like the rain, wants back in his stable. Nothing wrong with the bit.
