Made this almost together at the time with the making of in my way in pixel remake so the idle of Lancer and Susie is smooth(have subpixel animation) I'm not sure and can't decide myself if it looks good or not.

Probably in chapter 3 with all the tv shows and stuff because chapter 2 had a minigame and theoretically so should chapter 3

Lancer has his idle bobbing animation happen at 2 times the rate of the rest of them
Also this is chapter one and nobody realized that ralsei should still be wearing the hat and not be revealing their face yet
Edit: also kris doesn’t actually die on this fight and just get sent to the previous room so there shouldn’t be a death scene with the save point where I think you load the previous save, it should send you to said previous room and if you continue kris and ralsei go right (back to the battle room) but if you go to menu you should go down (back through the maze)

I am sure this is a pretty popular opinion but Toby fox should really hire fan pixel artists. I don’t think budgetting is a problem and saying “create 1 extra frame per frame on this animation!” Is pretty much all you need to increase the smoothness of your animation. The only downside would be that it may be weird going back to older chapters

@@TheSenkMan yeah but I’m pretty sure that they mainly make bullet patterns and doesn’t upgrade the sprite animations

I think they should keep it how it is because well, thats the charm of Toby Fox's sprites, they're simple and get the job done but still look visually appealing. I think adding even more smoothness makes it less distinguishable against other sprite artists.

i think they decided to use this version of Ralsei because in the original mod Ralsei doesn't have his hat at all
